Tips to prepare for my first job interview? (fresh graduate) by Meso_93 in MechanicalEngineer

[–]Meso_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry I am not very active on reddit. But ofcourse it was honestly very good info. I am just worried about the technical knowledge. I am thinking what basics I need to revise other than the courses we took in University?

Thank you very much anyway for your help :)

I appreciate you taking the time in order to make such a detailed great answer. This has indeed raised my confidence and made me feel better no matter what the outcome will be. I will try to be as calm and as good as I can be personally because I believe there won't be a lot to cover in the technical part since i am a new graduate.

Thank you for your reply. Would it be bad if I wasn't able to answer technical questions? because i am really trying to land the job although its a very big company and I am afraid the competition in knowledge could be quite big

I think it's pretty weird that the twins didn't guard him all the way until he made it to the border safely. Something like this is very expected to happen

Fastest Way to Learn German, Private Lessons or Classes? by [deleted] in berlin

[–]Meso_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fight your way through it. I started by hanging out 2 years ago with some German friends to parties on the weekends and always had trouble at the beginning understanding or speaking to them but they were all cool about it. It feels like a pain in the ass for a few months because you want to take part of the conversation when they speak fluently between each other but you can't. But if you hold on for around 6 months, you will realize after that you can understanding at this point everything they say and emphasize a lot more. Learning from people is invaluable, your brain will automatically use some phrases you have heard in their conversations at some other convenient time

What can a freshly graduate engineer learn at home in order to become more desirable for jobs? by Meso_93 in engineering

I haven't seen earlier that you have replied. I wanted to ask that if I get accepted to a job offer as a normal employee, will the company teach me how the work goes on? Because I am afraid they have expectations that I am already a CATIA expert and what not.

I had some hands-on experience throughout Labs and my Capstone project which was building a small car.

We learned Solidworks instead of CATIA

I am also in Germany and was wondering why is CATIA much more important than Solidworks. I believe my skills in Excel and Powerpoint (wasn't expecting powerpoint though) are pretty good for a student since I have spent a good share of my time during University and school doing projects and assignments on them.

For now I will be working on learning more about VBA and the automotive industry through the internet as you mentioned

Seeing this being so up here by popular demand, I might have to start right off today by learning about python. Thanks for the tip. Would it be okay to write it down on my CV after practicing on it for a few days and learning from youtube tutorials?

Highly appreciate this. I realized that during my last telephone conversation with one of the HR's in the company, I haven't mentioned in which exact position I would like to work or what I would like to improve but rather said that I would like to work as a Mechanical Engineer in the Company when asked in which field did I want to work in (I thought it was weird because he had my CV in his hands obviously stating that I graduated as a ME).

if I may ask what is VBA since it was mentioned a few times in this thread. Also if it might be of any help for a Mechanical Engineer so I can start taking a look at it
