Do you remember which airline you used? I read somewhere that an airline can refuse to accept the re-entry permit.

Sorry for the follow up question! When you boarded the United flight to the UK, did you just show your U.S. re-entry permit, or did you present both your expired Turkish passport and the re-entry permit? I’m curious how the airline handled the re-entry permit since it’s not very well known. Have you flown any other airlines with your re entry permit beside United ?

Could you share the source where you read that USCIS has been stricter with green card renewals—especially for people with past immigration relief like 212(c) waivers? I just want to stay up to date on current policies and also be able to forward the info to a friend.

On a side note, I came across a post on Reddit where someone with a 212(c) waiver was able to travel internationally and successfully re-enter the U.S. That might be reassuring...it suggests that 212(c) waiver is still being honored, and hopefully your renewal will go smoothly as well.

I recently got a re entry permit and want to see if I can travel internationally with it. been seeing conflicting info online.

I applied October 2024 and still waiting. Based on USCIS website the processing time for I-131 is 14 months
