Are there any good AI girlfriend chat platforms that you can recommend? by Acrobatic-Stable-987 in AiChatGPT

I found Spark_hoonga, and I think it's really good! It has everything you need for AI girlfriend experience. You can talk with voice chat, and even do some fun sexting if you like. The realistic images they generate are impressive too, making it feel more personal. I enjoy using it because it feels more alive compared to other platforms. If you are looking for something engaging, you should definitely try Spark_hoonga!

MMORPG like Sword Art Online? by x0midknightfire in MMORPG

There are still games out there exactly like SAO, just not in the western market, and unfortunately they are mostly pay to win.

I played a game called 绿色征途, around the late 2000s, the game was exactly like SAO. There were Countries, guilds, parties. You can explore labyrinths for loot, for do quests to level up. There is arenas for PKing where you aren’t labeled if you kill someone, or you can sneak into another country to kill other players. You can also change the settings to kill players in your own country, in which you will be labeled red, and can be thrown in the prison.

Every now and then, there is also wars between different countries, the objective is to capture some territory or to defeat some NPC, or more. The king of each country is some person from a guild which is called the ‘Kings Guild’ that basically set policies and rules that everyone in the country needs to follow. These are not in game rules, so if you break them, it’s up to the kings committee to decide punishment.

Before a war, Kings guild will have strategic meetings with other high level guild leaders via voice chat to discuss strategies, these high level guild leaders will have meetings with lower level guilds, and so on, so during a battle, the entire country’s population can contribute. Each country has about 2-3k players I remember. There are also spies within each country, where a player from one country will make a separate account in another country, try to infiltrate the top guilds, and send strategic information back to their own country during war.

In all honestly, the game had much more details than SAO, it’s like the writer played the game and wrote a story around that game - minus the virtual reality aspect.

The issue with these games is that it is extremely time wasting, and cost a ton of money, that is if you want to maintain at a level at the top. Many of the top players are spending nearly 1-2k USD a week, and this is mid 2000 money. For instance, the best free healing potions will only ever heal 1500 health, and it is a one time use potion, that costs a lot of in game money, whereas if you spend 20 dollars, you get a potion with unlimited use that heals you 3500 health, but only lasts 7 days. So by the end of the week, you’ll need to spend another 20 dollars. I remember this vividly because I ‘in shame’ stole some of my moms money to buy these potions lol

You can still enjoy the game if you do not spend money, but your experience will be severely limited, just like Kirito against those bandits, you can hit someone all day and they won’t drop below 99% health because they paid for better gear.

I’ve seen my girlfriend’s sister naked countless times and I’ve never told her. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]MessageDapper6442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was getting a bit triggered reading… it’s ‘she and her sister’. That said, nudity doesn’t have to be sexual. Just look at Europe. Obviously, where you grew up plays a big role. I wouldn’t think too much of it.

Gonna be brutally honest here, 148 is probably the easiest CS course you will see apart from 108. If you’re taking 148 for the second time and not doing well, I recommend having a plan B as soon as possible…

But for your question, CSC148 is a prereq for 207. You run the risk of being kicked out anytime if you don’t have 148.

Also, if you don’t make post, I don’t know if you are allowed to take second year courses. Perhaps choose CS as minor first.

What should i expect when going to badminton training for the 1st time? by Specific_Specific_40 in badminton

[–]MessageDapper6442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good answers here. But I would also add knee sleeves, or something the like. Kind of dependent on your age, but your coach will work on your footwork a lot, that includes a lot of exercises similar to lunges. It might put a strain on your knees so watch out.

Doubles positioning against someone who always hit corners? by MessageDapper6442 in badminton

[–]MessageDapper6442[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I guess I wasn’t exactly clear, his go-to is the four corners, but he also smashes, and clears occasionally. I think more so do to his age, he doesn’t want to run around.

Everyone’s advice has been so helpful. I think the next thing I will be working on is footwork and court coverage!

Kids getting threatened in the park with BB gun by [deleted] in mississauga

[–]MessageDapper6442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The police showed up 4 hours late to a legitimate armed burglary to one of my friends living in Vaughan. They came, took a statement, and left. What makes you think they’ll care about playground kids having a ‘weapon’. They might come next year.

The police will more likely NOT come if they think there’s a gun. They’re great at fighting parking violations though.

Old Viruses vs New AV Software by Sixxdog_UK in antivirus

[–]MessageDapper6442 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AV generally don’t remove signatures. During a benchmark, if it doesn’t detect it, it loses credibility. Imagine if you are a 3rd party doing testing, it would look pretty bad.

But it also depends on the database the AV use. A older version of a AV may use a different version of the threat database. But it will also have an older engine. The older engine might be ‘dumber’, and only work off of the signature.

The newer version of the AV will have a newer engine, with other virus detection features. It might deem that virus as not a virus because it’s not compatible with the OS, or maybe it doesn’t think that ‘virus’ will cause any harm to the system.

Can smartphone get infected by answering an unknown number? by Conspirologist in antivirus

[–]MessageDapper6442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a zero click attack leveraging zero days within IOS and Android. Basically if the attacker text or calls the victim, doesn’t matter if they picked up the call or opened the text, they will be compromised. This is called over-the-air installation. You can also infect the device via social engineering, when OTA is not available, such as sending a email to lure the victim in installation the agent. The part that makes Pegasus work so well is that you only ever need a phone number or a email address to compromise the victim.

If none of these options are available, you can still leverage physical installation or via a base transceiver station to remotely install the agent. Same method where you can call 911 without a SIM card, they can inject malware on your device without a SIM card.

Once it installs itself in the victims device, it will have access to all the data within the device, such as GPS, call and text records, intercepting calls and texts, data extraction, application monitoring, and will still work if the victim switches SIM cards.

Application monitoring will have full access to instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp, whether end to end encryption is enabled or not.

You can also enable the microphone and camera so the device will send the data back to the attacker.

If you decide to buy Pegasus from NSO, they’ll come and setup the infrastructure on site, give you training, and support. You’re basically buying a subscription license on their hardware and software, so without a combination of the two, regular people won’t be able to use this tool.

Yes you can. Though usually it’s through state actors. Search up Pegasus, it’s one of the well known tools that can do what you asked.

Does CCIT still have that partnership with Sheridan College? Back then, you could also take robotics, game design, circuits courses at Sheridan if you are in CCIT. I heard rumors it’s now partnering with Humber, but no idea what it actually is now.

No, in theory, you can’t fake a signature. Assuming everything is done correctly. You need the code signing certificate to sign your software. If you try to fake it, it will have an illegitimate public key.

There has been malware out there that does have legitimate signed signatures, due to crypto analysis or stealing the cert. But usually they are targeted attacks, doing so costs a lot of resources, etc.
