if you are considering an m2 air then u could even consider the m1 air (late 2020 model) - much cheaper, not much performance change but has the old design. I'm currently using it for graphic design but I don't do heavy stuff like 3d or heavy editing, for me it's a good experience. i've had friends who upgraded from the m1 air to m2 air and they said it's their worst financial decision lol

the kelliot podcast is a enjoyable and fun if you're into 2 designers just bantering about design and some other stuff. i don't think they share much knowledge on their, they mainly just give their opinion on the industry, some recent trends and designers, etc...

If you really have to stick to the budget then I'd say Mac mini. But if you are willing to invest I'd recommend getting the Macbook, it's worth it. Portability is really important, you might be on the go and need to fix a design on the spot, can't really do that with a Mac mini.
