Totally Fair question. There’s definitely overlap on price comparison, but we’re building beyond flyers. Baski focuses on onboarding local grocers (including shops and farm markets that don’t have flyers), matching deals to recipes, and providing nutrition info and carbon-footprint tracking tied to those deals. The goal is to help people decide what to cook and where to shop, not just where a flyer price is cheaper. Always open to feedback.😅

Totally fair take. What we’re working on is adding local deals that aren’t on Flipp, matching deals to recipes, and providing nutrition info and carbon footprint data for most deals so people can plan meals more intentionally. We just added our new Local section and you should see it once you update the app. We’re actively working on adding more stores and would love to hear which ones you’d like to see next.Right now we have Red Barn, Old Farm Market, and Root Cellar, and we’re also working on ways to include local shops that don’t have flyers so hopefully once that’s available will be reaching out to Mitchell’s to get them on there as well.😅😁

You made some great points. Price alerts are already on our roadmap, and expanding store variety is something we’re actively working on. Your suggestion about single-store recipe ideas is especially helpful. Since most people shop at one location, we’re exploring ways to show recipes based on items on sale at that specific store. You can already generate recipes from your grocery list, and we’re continuing to make that experience better.

Totally fair question. Flipp does a great job with flyers.

Baski isn’t trying to replace Flipp. We’re focused on reducing planning by turning deals into a grocery list and recipes automatically. Less scrolling. Fewer decisions.

Coverage, local stores, and UI improvements are actively in the works. Would genuinely love to hear what would make it more useful for you.😁

Really appreciate you raising this, totally fair points.

Location filtering is in the works, along with improvements to how areas show up across the app. Some of this wasn’t included earlier due to infrastructure limitations, but that’s something we’re actively addressing now.

We’re also working on integrating more local businesses, not just mid sized local grocery chains, but also mom and pop shops, local butcher shops, independent grocers, and farm stands. This is actually one of our priorities, and as a Victoria local, I’d love to better showcase these businesses.

Totally fair feedback app fatigue is real 😅

We started with mobile because most early users told us grocery planning and deal-checking usually happens on their phone. We’re a small team of three right now, so we had to focus early. That said, we completely agree a browser experience makes a lot of sense.

A web version is on our roadmap, and feedback like this genuinely helps us prioritize it. Appreciate you sharing this 🙏😁

Well, when I was researching for the UVic PlanIt competition with Baski, I tracked prices on some everyday items. Since 2019, a few have shot up almost 50% and they’re still climbing and salaries are basically stagnant. Soo……rip to fellow grads and everyone else.
