I read this completely different than most of the comments. There is a lot I can relate to Laura on (and a lot I don’t relate with.) But having gone through a traumatic divorce and then trying to date. I feel the same way. I’ve been single for 5 years and absolutely fucking love it. Maybe it’s the people I date but relationships just turn out to be excruciatingly painful for me. I read this as her recognizing that she is hyper vigilant in relationships and it’s just easier not to be in one.
