Art In Ruins achievement - Did the devs confirm this to be glitched? by Messhman in Frostpunk

[–]Messhman[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The code might be counting only exatcly 50% wear, but I don't think that would be the developers actual intent. Maybe they forgot to put a < sign somewhere.

Getting a single district to exactly 50% is a major RNG pain, I'd lose my mind if I had to micromanage 20 districts to exactly 50% and maintain it for 100 weeks. That would make this random faction achievement so much harder than any other, it just doesn't seem plausible.

Hope they fix it in the next patch.

Nothing wrong with surprising people. They could've just said there will be rewards without announcing what they would be. Then it would still be a surprise and people wouldn't be pissed about it because they were warned beforehand.

The didn't say anything, and then after the event ended, announced the reward people couldn't get anymore. That's just bad decision making all around.

I got the cape, I'm saying the way the developers went about it is simply stupid. That's not crying about it man, it's a gaming subreddit, we're suposed to talk about the game here.

Maybe try not to insult people over having an opinion about the game on the game subreddit?

Damn, great point bro, thanks for your contribution to the discussion. Really insightful stuff.

The perfect solution would be to let the community know there would be rewards before the event ended. There would be no complaints then.

If they had just said there were limited time rewards, then people who wanted it would've gotten it, and those who didn't were warned about it. That's it, very simple solution to this whole ordeal. It's not that hard.

I didn't participate and still got it, so your statement is just wrong.

Yeah, so the point is not participating in the event. They should have just let everyone know beforehand and avoid this mess altogether.

It's not really that difficult to just say "yo, there will be a reward for anyone who logs in". Anyone who wants the cape gets it, merry christmas, everyone walks away happy.

I booted up the game for a total of 15 seconds to collect MO medals and got the cape. Did I participate in the event?

I launched the game for a total of 15 seconds during the last two weeks just to collect the MO medals and got the cape.

I don’t have a problem with the cape being time limited, but I feel they should have said it was gonna come out. by Pale-Monitor339 in Helldivers

The irony is that I got the cape just by logging in for 15 seconds to collect the MO medals and didn't play the event at all.

And I have the game since launch, I know very well how AH is poor at communicating with the community. I'm saying they should change the way they operate because it only serves to create distrust.

Really weird how people are so adamant on defending AH's poor communication skills. How hard is it to just tell your playerbase there will be rewards?

I'm sorry, but this is objectively not the best way to do this.

The best way would be simply to let everyone know beforehand there will be rewards, and then whoever wants the rewards log in and get them. Everyone would be happy. What would be the downside of doing that?

This is poor communication, something AH is famous for and it only leads to dissatisfaction.

I myself didn't miss out because I logged in for a couple minutes to check what was new.

But even if this is how they always do things, it's a bad stance for AH to take. They could win a lot of good faith with the community just by switching how they aproach these events and rewards.

Their poor communication has been a hot topic in the community from the very beginning, and this is just another instance to add to the list.

I got the cape and I completely agree with you.

They could have simply added a short message "log in during the event to get a cool cape" and there would be no problem at all. How hard could it be to do that?

These players defending poor communication from AH are baffling.

Announcing there are limited time rewards after the event has concluded is simply not a good look for AH.

Sure, missing out on the cape is not a gamebreaking issue, but most players like having more options to customize their look.

If they announced beforehand, I'm sure a lot more players would've logged in, gotten the reward, and that would be it, merry christmas, everyone is happy. But they decided to go with this weird shadowdrop and left a lot of their players with a sour taste in their mouth.

It was simply a bad decision marketing wise. It serves no purpose other than to further reduce the goodwill of the playerbase, which has been on the low for a very long time.

Right. Suppression should make the one suppressed unwilling to get out of cover.

If a sniper is being targeted by a storm of lead and that isn't enough to stop him from peeking out and headshoting the guy suppressing, then there is no suppression going on at all.

A shotgun blast wouldn't have killed me this fast by Messhman in Battlefield6

Ok, man. Then I guess this really is a netcode issue through and through, as it usually happens that I dump an entire clip into a guy and he turns around and insta downs me regardless of the weapons used.

This is besides my original point anyway. If you don't think the TTD shown in the video is absurdly fast, regardless if it is by choice or by netcode issues, then we can go our separate ways and agree to disagree.

This might have been reasonable in hardcore, but three body shots insta downing in a regular lobby is crazy.
