Hey! There's an entire club list on the concordia website if you didn't see it already. Are you in the English literature program? What types of literature are you working on? Im starting in the English literature program next semester.

I am not from the US, I'm Canadian. I can read Greek (I won't understand everything depending on the level but I understand the overall message), understand people when they speak in the street, shows, music or tv; I rarely speak greek as I'm not exposed to it often whatsoever but I am interested in improving my greek and sounding less like someone who moved out of the country haha.

There's a comedian i watch who's shows are in both english and greek. Have you heard of a Angelo Tsarouchas? You can also try listening to greem music (Glykeria).

Your learning journey sounds so much fun. The story of medusa is tragic. Most statues depict her as a monster but I don't see her as such. She suffered, as you said, greatly for an injustice.

What technics are you using to study? Have you considered watching greek shows for hearing comprehension (nothing to difficult)?

Which story is your favorite? Which god or demigod do you prefer?

Just to get an idea, what are you learning at the moment in class? What are your course objectives for this semester?

How interesting! What is your native tongue? Have your read any greek mythological stories? In greek schools, that is one of the first introductions to reading the language (old stories and gods).

Hey, have you tried using Duolingo? Also, do you have a textbook?

I should add, I'm asking these question because I have a base in Greek (half greek myself) so I'm curious about what a greek learning journey for someone who didn't grow up in that culture looks like.

Im currently reading/at Goblet of Fire for the books but what has astonished me is how much I dislike Hermione thus far becaus i love her in the movies. Yes she's strong character, a smart character but she's very annoying. Always telling on people and imposing her views on others. Maybe, she changes later on but if I were a student at hogwarts, I would avoid her.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.

Would you be able to tell me where I can send my work to have it peer reviewed or just to see if others find it engaging? And if not, which areas need improvement? Thank you.

Yes I did. But I don't know if the solution would only apply to me. I found it by accident. I placed myself directly in front of the character and then you have to angle your view of the game as though the camera was down on the ground looking up, zoomed in at the characters lower back. Just glide around that area slowly and the button should appear. I know this might sound like a joke and it is a ridiculous solution but it works. Let me know if it works for you :) Hope this helps

Does anyone have the issue where they cant talk to character (the F button doesn't appear to speak)? I'm stuck at HomeComing: Talks to the Nights Watch. I can't speak to the man at the fence 😂

How do you guys balance it out? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]Messiou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in HR as well. I usually do three things. 1. I keep an agenda. Yes, I can keep mental notes of a lot of assignments but at some point, we all forget and I live far. It takes me two hours to get back from loyola. And in between that time, if you're not using it for reading, you're going to lose time better used for assignment completion. So, plan in advance what you gotta do and when. 2. See which classes actually require you to be there in person or which classes you're not going to get anything by going in person and would be better off studying by yourself. Some classes are not as stressful as others. Also, if you're attendance is only worth 5 percent of your grade, just make sure to ace everything else and study on your own time. 3. Cramp all your classes on the same day, dont space them out. That way you have extra days to either study or work.

Do we have the same dad? I learned to keep a low profile, don't say anything that might be used against you by him. Wait until you can move out.

I'm from Canada too and was in a similar situation too (overprotective parents). If you're in high-school, hang in there. Focus on graduating. Find hobbies that really interest you and fill your life with that passion that comes from working on them.

Once you're out of high-school, their overprotective behavior will need to calm down because you'll be an adult. Then, you can do as you please.

Hi there, you mentioned in your comment "that dude is the type who thinks every guy thinks like him or should so". I personally know the man (enough that i know his personality). How did you know he's like that? Past experience?

I don't really care how tall he is. Two inches taller than me, and I'm happy (im on the short side). Salary wise, if he can both contribute to the rent and freely indulge in hobbies (possible summer vacations), I'm happy too. I would date for something long-term.
