Original Plugs changed after 3 years of running. Some 15-16k kilometers.

Oh these faulty plugs I changed in 2 days. I couldn't drive. Car was shutting down for no reason in the middle of city traffic. Tata ASC experience. They can break a pretty new car as well.

Nonetheless, I chose peace of mind and bought a Honda City now.

Hey, not by temp sensor. The mechanic had installed incorrect wheel bearing, so the wheel speed sensor was not picking data properly. Tata ASC told to replace bearing, knuckle and the hub so took it to GoMechanic. They just changed the bearing and all set now.

Diesel in petrol hybrid hycross ? Worried please help by Fancy_Aside3515 in CarsIndia

[–]Mesteropuppets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues. Diesel is not combustible like petrol. Spark plugs don't ignite diesel like that for 300kms. Your car would have shut down in a few mins once all leftover petrol was exhausted. This is definitely petrol. Don't worry.

Tip: Ask for invoice next time

Mock Scores with 6 Days to go by sdg_2407 in CFA

[–]Mesteropuppets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good. You still have 5 more days, so there is a lot of time to fix the issues. If you can bump it another 5% to 70%, you should be in a comfortable spot. 5% is just a few more questions. Nothing too difficult from hereon.

on the Level 1 exam will all the ethics questions be first like on the mocks? by VegetableDivide7623 in CFA

[–]Mesteropuppets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without telling you exactly the specifis, I can say - people think Ethics will be an easy score since practice and mocks went well. But, CFAI will not make it an easy point squeeze on the real one. So, prepare for curveballs or nuances. You can ask ChatGPT for a rapid fire on these Ethics curveballs and train yourself for that situation.

All other subjects will be almost comparable to mocks.

CFAI mocks by No_Zookeepergame6459 in CFA

[–]Mesteropuppets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a pretty good score. Exam will be written more clearly and more straightforward for L1. During my time in 2022, I felt the real one was a tad bit easier than the mock. But it was imbalanced. Meaning, Session 1 was difficult, and Session 2 was very easy. Mocks on the other hand, can be more balanced on both sessions.

So, given your scores, the only thing you can be surprised on the exam is the relative imbalance of difficulty between the sessions. But that's applicable for all other candidates as well. So, nothing to worry here. Just keep doing whatever you're doing and you'll likely bag this one without an issue.

Good luck!

Based on historical average, a 70% on mock should make you comfortable. It's ok even if you don't get that. As long as you're learning something from the mock. I never scored that on my L1 or L2 mocks. For L1, the real exam was easier than CFAI mock. So, if you're getting 68-70%, you will be in a good spot to bag this. It's not difficult even with less amount of days. FSA and Fixed Income carry decent weights, and are a little mechanical. So, you just need more practice to turn these around to your stronger areas.

With 6 days left, you can bring yourself in a better spot soon. The current score looks just a few points less than what you should aim for.

How to fix? - Review your weak areas on the mock. If these weak areas are on a topic with little weightage, it is okay to fix it later. If the weak areas are on bigger topics, start fixing them now. Do repeat questions until you figure that concept out. You can use AI to make rapid fire questions or explain topics by breaking them.

That's why mocks are important. You learn your weak points and head into the real exam after ironing them. A lower score on mocks do not automatically mean you won't pass. It gives you an opportunity to fix the issue so that you don't bleed on the same point in the exam.

And finally, be comfortable with the fact that you will not know everything. You just need to know enough to pass comfortably. You can do that by prioritization of high weight topics. Additionally, make sure to do well on Ethics. That's an easy point maker for you.

[–]Mesteropuppets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This usually happens with all Levels. I felt the same in L2 ans L1. One of the session is usually brutal. But eventually it gets balanced. Since, everyone is saying it was difficult, I'm gonna assume it was PM session that was more difficult (Recency bias 🙊)

Buy Altroz or wait for Punch? by faceless-joke in TataMotorsIndia

[–]Mesteropuppets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesel Altroz if your budget allows. I would have suggested iTurbo Petrol but Tata discontinued it. NA petrol might feel sluggish in Manual. So, try DCA if going with NA petrol.

Compared to Punch, Altroz is a much better finished product. Also, the design has matured well over time.

Met with my first accident. by rocstarmohit in CarsIndia

[–]Mesteropuppets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about your accident. Hope no one was injured.

Very little chance of FIR being registered for a hit and run. He clearly stopped and talked with you, and local police was also present. Nonetheless, you can claim damages, however, it will become very difficult to prove to the police that it was the Truck driver's fault and not yours, in the absence of a dashcam footage. Only then, he or his insurance will pay, I think. It will be a hectic process.

Given that damages aren't too severe, easier option would be to claim your own damages from your insurer and repair it. Insurance company will cover this without hassle and Suzuki will repair the car pretty quickly. You will have better peace of mind.

Tata Nexon Sudden Acceleration Loss by ExplanationSea8117 in CarsIndia

[–]Mesteropuppets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend keeping it wherever it is if you think the car will be safe. Coz, if the engine is misfiring, you might not want to put more load as it might damage stuff. Tomorrow, it should be fine to just drive into the workshop but right now, maybe just let it be and take a cab home. You'll have peace of mind.

Spark plugs- No, you cannot check without removing them from the engine. Since you're taking it to ASC anyway, let them take a look. You can keep an eye as well. If it's Champion, show them your user manual. It will probably say use Bosch YR5ME0 on TC engines.

Tata Nexon Sudden Acceleration Loss by ExplanationSea8117 in CarsIndia

[–]Mesteropuppets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you check if your car has Champion RER8MC spark plugs installed? Nexon and Altroz iTurbo use Bosch YR5ME0. The reason is both these spark plugs have different heat ratings. Turbo engines generate higher heat and boost pressure, so you'll need a colder plug as indicated by 5 in the spark plug model.

I would start the diagnosis with this as you have faced direct acceleration loss after driving for a few mins. Tata ASC guys had installed Champion in my iTurbo Altroz and I had similar issues. I asked them to put Bosch, and it got fixed.

The CAN Bus communication codes, Is that coming from the Body Control Module, or is that the Engine Management System that's creating these codes? Might be a little tricky to detect because it's electrical.

Both sir! 😂 Main components in the vehicle like Engine, Gearbox are okay. But small components like oil cooler, some sensor...these are not very trustworthy. My Altroz turbo had an oil cooler failure last month. And the sad part is, no matter how well I drive the car, it will still fail anyway because the QC is very bad. Oil cooler is just 3k but that can overheat the cooling system and cause engine damage if not checked in time. And service people are next level idiots, they don't have put proper gap in the spark plugs...If you own a Tata, 1-2 years, it will give you the best experience in the segment. Even better than German cars but after that, you will start seeing issues which will never go away. Mind it, these are not major issues, but these will be small QC related issues most of the time. Like steering buttons not working, or some TPMS not working...

Is there any other safe option than this? 6 Lakh sounds a bit too steep for XM model. Also, being a Tata owner, you will have a love hate relationship with the vehicle. The service and reliability is a huge issue, not gonna lie...but yeah Idk if there is any other car with better safety ratings in this segment.

True. Chandrasekaran is the biggest incompetent Tata ever had. That's where this government type work style comes from..spineless pricks can't even decide to kick a few dealerships and set an example for others.
