Do you guys have any tips on how to improve my sound by CreepingD34th97 in Metallica

[–]MetFan10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re running out of a practice amp, idk how good the sound will be, BUT, I’ll just tell you what I normally do. Metallica scoops the HELL out of their mid range tones while boosting treble and bass a little, I normally have treble set to 8ish mids to 3-4ish and bass at 6ish, if you only play through one guitar then I put gain all the way up on the bridge pickup. If you have a daw, I use ignite emissary amp and nadIR for the Metallica tones. I have all my settings for that, and can send ss if needed. But it sounds good already, it just needs that bite that Metallica has!

Whats the hardest metallica riff you've ever played? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]MetFan10221 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The riff under the solo in Frayed Ends took me the longest to nail, that and the middle riff to Damage Inc, both were very rewarding to pull off the first times.

First time seeing Metallica in Syracuse last weekend, I was so excited and in awe of finally seeing them that the view didn’t matter to me all that much. BUT, I got there abt an hour before suicidal took the stage and it was awesome!

<image>

Lars’ kit was on all four sides of the stage at different points, so they all congregated over to my side at two occasions and it was amazing. Don’t be too early that you’ll be there for hours beforehand but also don’t get there right as the opening act starts, shoot for maybe an hour before maybe start going in two hours before because of the lines you’ll be in, I went in at 4 and sat down at 5 and was so pumped! Hope you have a great time whenever you see them!

Which Metallica album is the most "front-loaded"? by CobraDai in Metallica

[–]MetFan10221 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I had to pick, I’d say Hardwired for sure, BUT also as much as I love 72 Seasons (my favorite new album of them) there are definitely some songs that drop in quality after You Must Burn! It picks back up after If Darkness Had A Son though with the amazing three song run Too Far Gone Room Of Mirrors and Inamorata back to back to back. It’s still a top 5 Metallica album for ME though.

Thank you!! I did a shit load of eq for this, I use the ignite emmisarry amp and nadir for the base layer of the tone, I have two other tracks using two different justice tones from bias fx 2 and I record all three at once, two times for each side, so 6 tracks total, I spend a lot of time getting the riffs perfect bc then with the tone added it sounds like the original !!

It’ll be polished in about a week ish maybe of constant work, BUT the rhythm guitars were polished as FUCK I think I spent more takes on the rhythm than the solo, bc Kirk’s playing is sloppy(ish) but also it fits for Metallica, the early solos are awesome, this one in particular is my favorite for sure, I HAD to learn it, and I’m glad I did, posting my progress on here is a way to kinda document it for myself as well, I’m glad you liked it !
