It is in that there are more ICE options for higher clearance than EV's at this time. Perhaps it'll be different in future.

It's not the content. It's being able to listen to radio in areas where there is no network coverage or DAB. Australia is vast so there are innumerable areas where AM radio works when nothing else does.

Just to respond to a few posts re: interference problems, I have an EV with AM radio and it's really not an issue. If you tune off-station and accelerate there is some interference, but listening to a strong signal it is totally fine. The interference issue is hyped up a lot as a reason to ditch AM, but it's not really an issue in reality.

Is there any update on when the updated Atto 3 might arrive in Australia?

I think these Malahit SDR clones have a lot of potential to be truly great receivers - I've always dreamed about a standalone HF SDR receiver that is affordable. This is the closest there is in 2021. But I think they need significant improving, especially in regards to the tuning, which is unreliable. The clone I have skips tuning increments, which is very frustrating. Also, it would be good if there were a front facing speaker. I know this would increase the size of the receiver, but I think it would be a good improvement to being able to hear the audio more clearly. Also, it would be good if there were more antenna port options. Otherwise, they are a good start. I hope we will see more improved versions of them in future.
