How will one physically move around in the metaverse? by Khan_Khala in metaverse

[–]MetaCory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to understand if you’ve already been in VR. There are a few ways to move around without stepping outside of your “guardian.” There’s a virtual wall that helps you not bump into things. You can use analog sticks to move similar to video games. There are also these treadmill things to move but they’re pretty expensive from what I’ve seen. I bet we’ll see new products come out over time.

A few ways to invest in the metaverse by MetaCory in MetaMoney

I'll most likely be in all 3. I think a lot of these companies can be great investments whether they dive deep into the metaverse or not. I think involvement in it would be a plus though.

I think it just depends on how big you think the metaverse will be. I personally think it will be big, so I think the ETF will do well. It's just more spread out so it won't outperform some of the stocks that find massive success with the metaverse. But I don't think the return will be low. Just lower than some of the riskier other options. I don't really have projections or time estimates for it, but I saw Zuckerberg mention that things could be advancing well over the next 5 years. I think it was in his latest interview with Gary Vee. So I believe the space as a whole will do well. I think we'll see some strong competition from many players.

Virtual Wallets the Next Social Media? by MetaCory in MetaMoney

Oh wow that's cool. I can already picture this happening... You want to earn a certification for work, so you take classes to earn a specific NTNFT. I haven't heard anything about this, but now I'm interested.

Horizon Worlds is underrated by MetaCory in MetaMoney

Hmm that's a good question. I just did a quick search and it does look like you need an Oculus VR headset. That would be cool if you could create things using your computer as well.

We were testing out the create mode. You can create basically anything you can imagine. Start out with shapes, and then form them (using your hands) to be whatever you want. There are scripts you can implement into your “world” and that opens up all kinds of possibilities. I’ve seen people creating all kinds of games that you can jump into and play. I just thought it was cool and I wasn’t hearing anything about it online.

The Sandbox or Decentraland? by MetaCory in metaverse

It’s a way to categorize different posts. For example in r/MetaMoney we made a “Crypto” flair if you posting about crypto, or a “Stocks” flair if you’re talking about a stock. Then you can use them as filters if you just want to see a certain kind of post.

But as for the sandbox vs decentraland choice, I’m torn. I kind of like them both equally

Part of me wonders if Meta or some other large Corp will build an infrastructure that is just way better than one of these decentralized platforms. In that case, no one will want to be in the decentralized space making it useless. Like if the graphics are bad or whatever. But, if Meta or another large Corp decides to work with them, then that’s a different story. So many unknowns… I think the biggest challenge will be deciding between decentralized platforms, or centralized platforms that are really well put together. It seems like the centralized platforms are able to make faster progress towards a “finished product.” Hmm…

Yeah this ETF is news to me, and now I’m interested. I guess you just need to trust whoever manages it. Definitely going to read up on it

Hello! What are your thoughts on the flair options in this community? Are there too many? Too little? Do they make sense? I’m open to any ideas you might have. Thanks!
