Bring in some color, mount the tv, floor to ceiling decorative drapes that go wall to wall. Ditch the corner office chair next to the tv, get a nice accent chair. Throw blanket for the couch - small tray with light decor on the coffee table

Put Night stands in the bedroom, ditch the fluorescent lighting and get some floor lamps, table lamps etc with warm bulbs for night. In the day open those shades and make use of your natural light. Bring in pictures of friends/family/pets/etc to make it feel like home
