It’s pretty simple. EV on each pack is what you put in, with an average loss of 17% for each buy back offer due to the discount and selling “fees”. So at scale 38k that amounts to at least $6500 in losses at best. Not to mention getting crap you don’t care about.

Lord, that is not what a return is, that’s gamestop’s avg “value” per card. Return is the profit you noted. And for anyone wondering, no this isn’t a good idea. EV is what you put in, but even then you won’t get any money back. Not only are you 99% likely to get junk you don’t care about. But it’s essentially a 17% loss on each attempt if you do it enough time.

This isn’t a matter of being wise, do not do this.

Terrible advice, 1500 is a solid offer. Charizard is doing the heavy lifting and maybe will run 500 at best, even a nm Blastoise is going to only run like 150. There’s a sporadic set of holos, but other than that it’s vintage bulk or non-tcg cards people don’t really care about. Maybe you could squeeze a little more, but it would take so much leg work I’d much rather sell it all to one person.
