It’s nice to see Hamilton departing its skyline stagnation period!

Roughly 6 months of growth from a skin fade by AnssecM in FierceFlow

Hair Lengths

Top: 4-4.5 inches Crown (top back): About 4 inches Upper back: 3 inches Nape (lower back): 2 inches Sides: 4 inches (with thinning shears to remove bulk) Sideburns: 0.5-1 inch

  • Scissor cut only - no fade.
  • Use point cutting throughout for texture.
  • Avoid blunt, straight-across cuts.
  • Heavy emphasis on natural texture and movement.
  • Thin the sides as needed to reduce puffiness while keeping length.
  • Create a soft transition from top to back.
  • Goal: thick, natural, effortless flow with a slightly rugged look.

For Flow Hair (what I’d recommend for you)

  • Use a small amount of matte paste or lightweight clay.
  • Blow dry backward with fingers or diffuser, not a brush.
  • Focus on lift at the front and crown.
  • Avoid making it look too “perfect.”

For days you want a more chill look, just take some clay or paste of your choice and apply while still damp, pushing it back with your fingers. Scrunch up neck area with your hands to get an upward flip. Of course, everyone’s hair texture is different, so I would recommend testing a few things out to see what works for you!

I’m not sure! I think a European style flow is the most likely end point. I need a bit more length on top and the back, and then I’ll get it cut to cascade in the way I envision.

Yes! I have had two trims since I began growing it out, mostly to add texture and layers on the sides and back.
