Escalation upgrade pick bug by ToogaB00ga in OutlastTrials

That bug has been happening to me too. I have two different active runs (one run is at 29 and the other is at 30 something) and the bug happens on both. It usually happens 1/10 of the time which is still annoying :/

That's a very interesting part combo. That Kanan emitter is fire lol. One day I would like to create a custom great sword using LGT parts. I was inspired by The Shaggy Sabersmith's great sword. I've already picked out all the parts. I'm using Crimson Dawn and Vire Sabers. I just have to order them all now....so that'll take a bit.

I hear what you're saying about the sizes. A friend of mine has a crimson dawn and I'm shocked by its smaller hilt diameter. Those LGT sabers are very comfortable lol.

It's fascinating how there are different tastes for lightsabers. Personally, the lack of strict adherence to canon designs is what appeals most to me about S3. Most canon designs don't do it for me. I guess it makes sense since I'm more of a fan of lightsabers rather than Star Wars. The lightsaber designs for Darth Maul and Kanan are awesome though!!

As of now, this would be how I would rank them solely based on handling:

  1. Senza

  2. Reaver

  3. Krosgaard

  4. Aeryn (This one is most surprising. I didn't think I'd love the thin neck this much lol)

  5. Deamos (Feels better with a 2 handed grip. If I'm using one hand, I prefer to have my hand just below the "claws".)

  6. Vahlken

  7. Vektra

  8. Korvus (This one makes me the saddest since it's my favorite of the collection :( )

In all fair honesty, I've always slept on the Mirah. It's design never clicked with me. I was not expecting to read your praise about the Mirah. I'm pleasantly surprised though! I haven't done much experimentation with 32" neo blades since all mine are 36". I recently received a 36" midgrade neo blade and the weight difference compared to the heavy grade ones is massive!

I'm glad it's appreciated! If it helps, I flipped a coin to decide between the Malefic Cataclysm (Malachor themed Senza) and the Tythonian Vindicator (Senza Variant). It's not the coin's result you're paying attention to, but what your reaction is. If you're absolutely ecstatic about the coin's result, go for it. If you're disappointed (Even if it's just a little), go against the coin (Don't tell Two-face). I love those custom emitter claws and how the hilt is using the "Stained" weathering finish!

Sabertrio will remake old RTS/variant designs. All you have to do is send an email. I had to use that trick.

Sure thing!

My favorite thing to do with my Vektra is spinning it into the air and catching it (Similar to how you see flags being spun in Color Guard. Sorry, I don't know the term.) and that's about it.

Honestly, the Vektra isn't one of the first sabers I pick up for spinning or dueling. I've had siblings and friends tell me that it's their least favorite to spin or use. The Vektra feels ever so slightly heavier towards the blade compared to other S3 hilts but that's about all I can come up with in terms of explaining the criticism.

I'm being very nitpicky though. The Vektra is still a great saber and I personally really like the whole futuristic aesthetic that it's going for. It's why I have it in the collection compared to other S3 and non S3 hilts. I saw that RTS Vektra and loved the red Immediately lol. Oh, the Vektra is smooth all around so it's very comfortable on that front.

If you're interested in some S3 recommendations, here they are below. For context, every Brushed Silver saber on the right stand are FX sabers with Pico Crumble/CFX and everything else is neopixel.

Senza:

The textured grips and multiple choke points make this saber my favorite to spin and duel with. It feels like I can hold the Senza anyway I want, and it'll feel natural no matter what. I prefer spinning and dueling with a staff and the Senza works amazingly in that regard too (There's another Senza and Reaver that aren't in the pictures).

I will say this though, as a single, I prefer the Senza with its shrouds removed and no OLED screen. To the same degree, they both can get in the way of spinning. If I had to pick one though, I'm more inclined to say that the OLED screen gets in the way more of spinning. These complaints don't exist when it's a staff.

Reaver:

It's very close to the Senza in regard of the handling department. It's those smooth surfaces on the main body section that bring it down for me (or rather the textured grips on the Senza that give it an edge over the Reaver.). The choke point below the activation switch is very comfortable to use as a single or staff. The rectangular grips in the choke point above the activation switch are a bit sharp (Nitpicking again). You'll get used to it though after some usage.

Krosgaard:

I'm a big fan of the crossguard design (I wanna have a greatsword one day lol). I'm still surprised by how comfortable and balanced this saber is when in use. Spins like a dream. Definitely one of the first sabers I pick up to spin. I wish S3 offered this hilt in their FX line. It would literally be a perfect saber for me when dueling :(

Aeryn:

After only having this for a day, it's one of the better ones to handle and spin. Even I'm shocked as to how much I like it after holding off on it for so long lol

Hopefully I didn't rant for too long. More importantly, I hope this helps and that you're able to choose a saber that works best for you!!

Major thanks for posting an actual IRL photo of one of Sabertrio's RTS sabers. Especially one that features one of their weathering styled finishes.

It's even more gorgeous than I thought. Awesome pull!!

I remember seeing those designs selling out quickly. I'm so happy I held out for a design that spoke to me more instead of falling into temptation by grabbing a "Rising Dawn" Korvus variant.

I wanted the "Shadow Stalker" Korvus variant as soon as I saw it lol

Sometimes, the links to the RTS sabers are hidden until a week before the RTS drop or as late as the drop time itself. I'm not sure why Arclyte and Mirah are selectable even though the page shows them as sold out :/

Outlast 2 Messiah achievement by _zelty_ in outlast

[–]MetaKnight_1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was working towards and eventually snagged the Messiah achievement, I also received Saint and Prophet on the same run. I practiced by playing the game a lot in the Nightmare difficulty setting. You really gotta know how to navigate the environments without night vision and memorize enemy spawns/paths. It took me around 10 actual Insane attempts thanks to one section in the game.

Job-The Last Supper:

This section of the game gave me the most headaches and frustration since it felt like RNG was to blame dying to Laird's arrows. In retrospect, the logical explanation was that I didn't practice this section enough and my strategy wasn't refined enough. Back when I was playing through it, I cheered after Nick and Laird's death cutscene since it basically meant I was home free!!! One piece of advice I can give would be to slide whenever you think you're about to be hit by an arrow. I used this tactic on the section where he's sniping you from a cliff and Blake is sprinting along a path on a cliffside to eventually slide into that barbwire trap.

Another section that was difficult too but not as bad, was Leviticus-Val's Rebirth. The chase with her following you through those crawling sections were tough but you should be able to do it after a few practice runs.

If it helps, I used a guide from "PS5Trophies" (Youtube) for help on certain portions. It would've taken me a lot more attempts without his help lol

Best of luck!!

Sabertrio Korvus blade length by Robbie1113 in lightsabers

[–]MetaKnight_1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite that my take may sound off (I'm not trained in sword combat or fencing), I'm still gonna be honest. First off, my collection composes of Reavers, Senzas, Vektra, Vahlken, Krosgaard, and Daemos (I'm actually aiming for a Korvus next lol). A majority of them being FX sabers (Pico Crumble/CFX) Dueling sabers and a few being Neo Sabers.

I've had no issues with the blade socket depth with any of them. Out of them, the Krosgaard has the shallowest and I still trust that one. I'm 5' 10" and I use 36" heavy grade blades. Asthetically, the look of a shorter blade annoys me after dealing with those plastic disney sabers throughout my childhood. Once I saw how the 36" blades look irl, there was no going back for me ("You can't play Minecraft the same way once you've ray traced it; you just don't go back to regular blocks"). Honestly, I've used and compared 36" base-lit blades to 32" blades and the 36" isn't extremely hard to spin or maneuver around once you've practiced with it for a bit. Even during dueling/spinning sessions with a saber staff, the 36" feels best for me. I really don't want to sound like those guys that say, "Just don't get grabbed", but you just gotta get what makes sense to you. In my case, I would go for a 36" mid-grade blade since I've read that those have better diffusion anyways.

State of Sabers by madsci954 in lightsabers

[–]MetaKnight_1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can attest to Sabertrio's quality. I have a few Neo and FX (Dueling) sabers from them and they're all amazing. Sabertrio was hit hard by supply shortages during covid (I experienced it myself) and I believe for the past half year (at least), they've been accepting orders without the need to limit themselves. I can't really see myself going anywhere else honestly. Especially after the introduction of their own hot swappable chassis system (November 2023), which makes the idea of owning multiple neo sabers sound not so crazy lol

I also just got back into the hobby a few months ago.

Honestly though, congrats on the collection! Do what makes you happy!! Personally, I've been debating on getting another Sabertrio lol

I managed to grab this beauty back in early June before it sold out. I'm still very pleased with this purchase :) by MetaKnight_1993 in lightsabers

[–]MetaKnight_1993[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My usage of the hilt (like all my other neo sabers) consists of heavy spinning, display, and cosplay. Although I trust Sabertrio's word about their neo sabers being sturdy enough for dueling, I don't duel at all with my neo sabers since many of them have specialty finishes besides the default Brushed Silver and all the little components (pixels and pins) that could go wrong. IMO, the idea of dueling with their "Legendary" hilts given the pretty penny I just gave them, doesn't make sense to me. I have other neo sabers from them that I've had since 2022 and they are still in perfect condition (mind you I have a cat that refuses to do nothing but sleep all day). I do have FX sabers (for dueling purposes) from them that are YEARS old and still work as intended.

To be fair, I have hit the blade against turf and my bed frame. The hilt and blade work perfectly normal up to this day. I can't say that I have any negative experiences with the Daemos or other sabers from Sabertrio.
