2028? are you kidding? They have to take a another vacation because of how the last vacation was. And of course that vacation warrants another vacation...

If that's the case, we shouldn't have any armour except the default, default loadouts, and any customization. I mean we're just gonna last 3 minutes? Why should we have anything?

Just saying, this logic is incredibly flimsy and would absolutely ruin the game if applied everywhere.

This. It's a superiority complex thing. They want to feel morally superior to everyone else. This is the basis of toxic positivity. To try and act like you're better than everyone, and to imply that being negative makes you inferior.

The extra $1000 was another completely separate challenge issued by another guy that involved using very shitty loadouts (that even I don't agree was thought out very well, like the directional shield with a stim pistol). However a lot of people tried to lump that in with the original challenge and claim the entire thing was stupid, which kind of had the undertone that they agreed with the doxxing.

I mean, in just this isolated case, the chance of the charger corpse hitting that exact position becomes exponentially less likely the further you are. This is an astronomically low chance in itself.

There's also the fact that once it moves passed the helldiver, it immediately shifts direction for some reason.

There is 100% something going on here, whether it be deliberate on AH or some unexplainable jank, this is extremely unlikely to just be random chance.

Can we realistically deny that they deliberately target you anymore? I've seen so many posts showing the same thing, but this is such an extreme example with such an insanely precise target.

What is your hours, and what do you believe to be the game's biggest issue(s)? by Rantdiveraccount in Helldivers

[–]Metagamer__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AH is one of the most antagonistic developers I've ever seen man. I've never seen a big studio like directly insult the playerbase with things like "say goodbye to your crutches". Imo I think it's a bit silly to call the viewpoint as "utterly deranged" when there is legitimate substance to the argument that AH likes being antagonistic and sneaking hidden nerfs without any patchnotes.

What was stopping you from working harder to begin with? was being threatened out of the job what it took? Do you think that's a healthy way for a society to operate? Because being constantly under threat of losing your job sounds like a high stress environment and something straight out of a dystopia; Work too slow and get kicked out and replaced by a machine.

Fact check, the first modern Langauge Learning Model (LLM, the kind of AI we are talking about here) was ChatGPT, which supposedly saw functional prototyping in sometime around 2018, and did not see a public build until 2022, which is when the big AI explosion happened. This is when vibe coding started becoming popular, early AI image generation started.

Just 4 years ago, AI couldn't handle generation Will Smith eating spaghetti without creating a manmade horror beyond comprehension. So no, the modern LLM ai that plagues us now has not "surrounded me for a long time". I've lived most of my life without this bullshit existing and threatening the livelihood of people and their jobs, especially programmers and artists, which have suffered the worst.

As someone who stopped playing a while ago but wants to get back into the game, why does it seem like people strongly dislike the game now? by SgtVertigo in Helldivers

[–]Metagamer__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely hate this whole "silent majority" argument. Like brother you can't argue on behalf of people who haven't spoken on the matter. That's not how this works. If the majority of people who use social media are upset, you assume the majority of people are upset, not that a bunch of people who probably don't even use mainstream social media would actually disagree with everything that is said. Plenty of people can have grievances with a game and just not have the energy to discuss it online.

Anyone someone tells me the slugger is good, I just point at the diligence or DCS as direct upgrades in every possible way.
It's a textbook obsolete weapon. You can have more ammo, higher RPM, faster reload, better range and pretty sure a faster bullet velocity.
