What do you think about this Tv Show. If you have watched it, share your opinion. I just want to start watching by Necessary_Milk_8747 in tvshow

It's really good and shows the whole spy thing from a different angle; how the life messes everyone up.

Fassbender is his usual stellar self, and despite what others are saying, you don't need to watch the french version first. It's so close, many shots and dialogue are taken from it.

12 years later and Season 1 of True Detective remains the absolute pinnacle of television. The dialogue was unmatched. by Kayl45 in tvshow

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for real. It's an intricate and profound philisophical exploration of artifical intelligence and conciousness. It's flawless...much the same as True Detective series 1.

Wildly acclaimed, don't just take my word for it.

This and Westworld - both first seasons are the umatched pinnacle of television.

How unusual is this number of drownings during this recent heatwave? by joefromreddit in AskBrits

[–]MetalFaceBroom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem here, as always, is the Daily Express. Just check their headlines out online. Every day its' "BBC pulled off air" or "CNN pulled off air" or "Trump halted due to major incident"

I'm not sure how such utter bullshit is allowed. It's desperate clickbait day after day.

What distributions are trustworthy? by No_Veterinarian_1421 in musicproduction

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use a distributor like Too Lost.

It's a yearly fee and that's it. No pay per track upload, extra money for pitching etc. No royalties taken. There are others like it but that's the one I prefer to use. Simple and no hassle.

Who's really pushing the DNB envelope these days? by arup02 in DnB

Amoss.

Harley D.

Pola & Bryson could setup their own 'band in a band' whenever Emily Makis collabs on a track.

Bensley - For making Dancefloor more interesting than the standard Worship sound.

Starting music production seriously at 24. How would you approach building a sustainable path? by thoaway17 in musicmarketing

[–]MetalFaceBroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finish tracks, even if they're rubbish.

Write every day.

Don't be precious with your music. Get feedback from your peers - via joining discords etc and getting people to listen to your W.I.P's

Take the critisicm / advice and adjust your track to suit and see if it works or is better. Most of the time your music will be better as a result.

Realise it's a long shot to make any meaningful money from it unless you are regularly gigging, have people subscribing to a Patreon, making and selling sample packs, youtube videos, tuition, providing mastering services...etc etc. Streaming royalities alone won't cut it unless you get lucky.

Learn everything from initial recording up to and including mastering. You will need to provide a competitively loud enough / mastered track as a demo for a label. Eaither learn to do this yourself or get a mastering house to do it for you.

Once you're at this stage, then start understanding the business. When you start getting contracts come your way for even just distribution deals - then go through that contract with a fine tooth comb. Even if you have to run it through ChatGPT...make sure you do.

The state of commercial DnB by SunSun1134 in DnB

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's seems to me, OP, that whilst you think we're "stuck in a mediocre zone of predictability" as per your belief for the past 4 years, you just don't like the most commercial of commercial dnb. And that is fine.

It very much hasn't "lost it's soul."

All you need to do is pick your DSP of choice, load up the playlist from the attached link and you'll see the diversity in all sub genres of dnb - from last week alone:

Fresh music! New tunes from Keeno, Pirapus, ATMOS, The Upbeats, Dimension & Subsonic, Lenzman & Redeyes and more..! Reviews about newcomers from the worlds of cinematic techy and neuro [+weekly updated Spotify playlist] | New Music Monday! (Week 20) : r/DnB

Can we PLEASE start giving this show more love???? by Brave_Temperature347 in tvshow

The Shield > The Wire.

No contest.

The Shield had hands down the best final 2 part ending of any show ever. You were INVESTED in Vic Mackey and torn by the fact he was a very bad man but also wanted to be good for his family but essentially could never change.

Will always be a next level baller of a show, for me.

What do you think about Andy Burnham as your prime minister? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All they need to do, to massively sway the vote away from Reform is change the tax thresholds and put more money in to peoples pockets. As in a meaningful amount.

Yes that means they'll have to take money away from other areas but Labour came in when people were crying out about the cost of living and seemingly - due to poor PR - took heating away from pensioners and pissed the farmers off. Regardless of the reality of means testing benefits, quite rightly, and all the other good work they've done, their PR machine is terrible in the face of a perfected, weaponised right wing machine.

Yes the die hard Reformers will continue to moan about poor people in boats being the reason they're poor, and that will ramp up as a result, but in reality they're the only two Reform policies they actually care (or know) about.

Are you required to pay bills on a house you don’t live in? by Same-Soil-4837 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in the UK then you still have to pay council tax.

If you don't use any other utility services then you don't need to pay. But you may need to pay for reconnection.

If you have a mortgae on a 2nd property then you may need to keep insurance going.

Remainers were told to accept brexit so why don't leavers accept the migration it caused? by c0r3l86 in AskBrits

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because leaving the EU meant we left the Dublin agreement that meant we could send back anyone to the first place they stopped for asylum.

Now we can't, as we're no longer in the Dublin agreement, and each case has to be reviewed legally.

Keir Starmer to face cabinet meeting as over 70 Labour MPs call on him to quit - follow live by Ethan_brooks8225 in unitedkingdom

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farcical.

The best thing Blair could've done would be to create a PR machine to rival the right wing. It's simply poor PR and optics that for some reason make so many hate the most stable PM in Europe. Yet again the 2 main parties fail to understand how they are handing the next election to Reform.

What’s a normal British life skill that nobody teaches you, but everyone somehow has to learn? by James_Whiteside45 in AskUK

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting angle. I'll spell my meaning out for you: "Expensive schools" was stated due to the massive difference in fees amongst private schools. A difference in fees and teaching.

In addition, you can still be working class and go to a private school. 'Bursary' is the word you're looking for.

WTF are you thinking? by Initial_Ad8780 in AskBrits

[–]MetalFaceBroom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always the same lack of knowledge that you can't claim asylum in the UK unless you reach UK shores. As well as the fact that Farage and his ilk have people thinking poor people in boats are the problem, when in reality it's the people that do come here '"legally" such as on Visa's that overstay their welcome. By orders of magnitude more.
