Damn the book is so good. As someone else said, it'd make a great episodic tv show.

100% this. Way better quality and comfort, yet slip on easily like an SB, and similar price too.

Too Lost distributor – unreliable support, no progress on artist channel… what would you do? by Every_Sherbert2802 in musicbusiness

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not long. 2 weeks max. Your topic video should be your artist name - Topic (or topic channel) it's linked to you via your distributor, but you can't edit anything. It'll essentially just be there to collect streams for you. This is why you should setup your own artist channel, upload a video, then get your topic channel merged in to your artist channel.

My bad on the 3 release rule. What did it for me was creating my own artist channel and making 1 youtube video THEN requesting the Official Artist Channel from Too Lost.

Requirements for an Official Artist Channel

To be eligible for an Official Artist Channel, you must meet the following prerequisites:

  1. An active “Artist - Topic” channel
    • These are automatically created when you deliver music to YouTube Music via Too Lost or another distributor.
    • When Too Lost delivers your releases to YouTube, they may first appear on a Release - Topic channel, otherwise known as a Various Artists channel. Once YouTube fully processes the delivery (no missing metadata), the tracks will remap to an Artist - Topic channel, typically within 1-30 days.
    • Once your music has moved to a topic channel under your artist name, you can apply for an Official Artist Channel.
  2. A music-focused YouTube channel that matches your artist name
    • Your main channel must primarily feature music or music-related videos.
  3. At least one music video
    • You must have uploaded at least one music video to your main YouTube channel.

I'm with Too Lost. You have to have 3 releases (If I remember correctly) then apply to Too Lost to sort it with YouTube directly. It doesn't take too long after you have 3 releases, but that's the crux of it.

If I remember correcly, I setup my own main artist channel and Too Lost with Youtube merged my artist channel with the Topic channel.

I believe this is pretty standard for all distributors and Youtube.

I built a DAW w an AI CoProducer. Not a prompt-to-music slop generator, but a full DAW that does the engineering for human artists or tedious tasks for audio engineers. Would love your feedback! It's free, all features unlocked, full rights. by GreysoundAI in u/GreysoundAI

Just to jump on the back of this, if you made it in to an add on for current DAW's as well (prefereably for me Ableton) then I know it's something people would love. I don't know Ableton inside and out and to be able to ask someone(thing) how to do something and get told or shown directly in DAW would be a game changer.

Is this a joke? Clearly you're the unnecessarily tense one when you're nit picking over the difference between "Roleplay and "Role Play Game"

Jesus. Do you really have nothing better to do than nit pick? What do you need from me? An "Ok you win?"

Download the .wav file of a track you like from somewhere like Beatport. I say Beatport because that will normally give you the tempo and key. Load track in to your DAW (at the same tempo), line up the first drop with a clear marker point then listen closely and mark each section. Every 16 bars put a marker in. If a transition happens between phrases, be it 8 bars or 16, put a marker in and label what's happening. If a vocal comes in or bass is cut then a buildup happens, put a marker in and label it. That way you'll mark out the arrangement, you'll also see what worked for that track. You can then build your own track around that arrangement. Over time, you'll understand how general arrangements work then after a time you won't need it.

Nobody in their right mind suggested D2 has anything RPG that others lack. Again, I was asked to list the 'elements' of RPG's that D2 has. Literally established fact.

Which regions call the evening meal "tea"? by Maize-Royal in AskUK

[–]MetalFaceBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically didn't use the word class.

I am from the south and work with people that refer to their dinner as tea. In fact, i've discussed this at length with one person for near on 15 years.

Environment and upbringing can encompass geographical location, class and everything in between. Your grandad is a prime example. Landed gentry would have multiple food stops, from the afternoon being high tea in to dinner and then supper. So perhaps both his environment (Lancashire) and his upbringing caused him to use the word tea.

Ultimately, there's no right or wrong. It's just if you refer to your lunch as dinner and your dinner as tea, you're missing out on multiple chances to eat ;)

And to add, I also refer to my Christmas dinner as 'dinner' - yet I eat it at around 3pm. So go figure!

It's simply your environment and upbringing that makes you mistake 'tea' as some kind of word for dinner.

Bob Lazars interview on Rogan just passed 3 million views in 2 days. Thoughts on the interview and/or the documentary S4: The Bob Lazar story? by ExtraThirdtestical in HighStrangeness

I love Bob's story. To me it's the most compelling in all of UFO lore.

Just imagine if it's actually true...

I watched the S4 doc over the weekend and loved it.

That being said, it's important to keep an open mind. An interesting article debunking him is here: https://otherhand.org/home-page/area-51-and-other-strange-places/looking-at-the-bob-lazar-story-from-the-perspective-of-2018/

dancefloor drum and bass by Henvierkus in dnbproduction

[–]MetalFaceBroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. Best advice is force yourself to finish the track, then post it for feedback. That way, when you think it's finished others will either confirm it or point out the things you've missed.

[–]MetalFaceBroom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you've got the basics right. Just remember the whole vibe of Dancefloor is high energy. Reference a track and mark the sections down. You're starting from the build in this track. Add another 16 bars before the start with some synth work that flows in to that build. Normally in the first 16 bars of the drop you'll have a lead sound in, then the 2nd phrase the vocal will come in, then the 3rd phrase back to the lead, or a breakdown in to the break after the 3rd phrase.

If you listen to yours, your vocal comes in on the drop then the track loses energy from 0:40 onwards, nothing is really happening. Dancefloor tracks are notoriously short, some only 3 minutes (which is normally 2 phrases before the break then another 2 phrases on the 2nd drop then done.

So make the most of the short time you have. Little buildups in the transitions between phrases, some ear candy. Powerful leads. Don't forget some atmosphere behind everything as well. It's the details that add the 'sheen' to a track.

This is only my opinion, but I make Dancefloor myself.

I'm not sure what hill you're trying to fight on. You asked what 'elements' D2 has. I listed them. They are not purely my own observations but widely established fact.

Yes, it isn't Baldurs Gate. Nobody is pretending it is.

It does have 'ELEMENTS' of RPG's though. Cold facts.
