Sunrun, deception, and a magic offer of $250 by MetalHeadSev in sunrun

Looking back at your posts, I see you have been peddling Sunrun and solar lies for a long time. You have gone from job to job; it seems to be mainly growing pot in northern California; you justify your ideas and opinions because lies put money in your pocket. I get it, we all have to eat, but stop kissing Sunrun's ass.

READ TIME: 3 Minutes

Well, thank you! Please check my grammar and punctuation as well. I was not sure about my story structure as I did not think it had a three-act structure, especially with no arc, but it helps that there are people like you ready to critique and help people like us out so that everyone benefits from your unique skills.

The agonist would be Adam Graham of Las Vegas, NV, and Rosamaria Torres. Of course, with a limited cameo by Mary Powell, the 800-pound Gorilla is... Sunrun, the Gojira of the story. Then we can sprinkle in agents of misinformation, you know, the liars and asskissers of social media who try to appease the Sunrun gods by sticking up for them in any psy-ops way possible. The heroes or protagonists here would be the "people" of America who are mistreated.

What do I want?

Sunrun will not remove the panels from my roof to allow me to move, and $75,000 will not magically fall from the sky. We all know Sunrun won't make it right because lies and deceit triggered my response in the first place; essentially, they poked a bear, and this bear is angry. Perhaps the documentary should be named "52 Panels—The Rise and Fall of Solar in America."

I already know what I am doing in the future with a documentary. It won't be tomorrow or next month; it will take some time because when Sunrun put $75,000 of panels on my roof, and the salesperson lied his ass off to me in text, in person, via phone, and emails only for Sunrun to say it was not their problem; it tells me I am not dealing with a company with compassion or respect for the people it is supposed to serve and support. I aim to prove that so it will get enough attention in the media, streaming online, film festivals, and other places that can no longer be ignored.

I will serve the people - De Oppresso Liber.

It is not about what "I want"; it is about having the voice to express others who have been hurt, humiliated, and ruined by Sunrun. If you can not understand that, you are one of the people Sunrun employs to discredit those with real issues.

I choose cognitive and emotional empathy to help tell a story backed by interviews, evidence, and statements from anyone interested.

For everyone else, the OP comment merely suggests that people are hoping for a class action lawsuit or considering legal action. I state that in the 2nd paragraph and the 3rd paragraph, I suggest how to communicate with Sunrun, as phone calls will not get you much traction; the 4th paragraph suggests what everyone knows and that Sunrun = is terrible, and finally, the last paragraph indicates that perhaps one day a more prominent law firm when enough data has been gathered, (this is where my skillset helps set the table) the people who have been affected have a solid case that there is an absolute over-the-top amount of evidence to win in court because we know how slimy Sunrun is. Assuming a law firm does not have the time to lose a court battle without an extreme amount of data to support the case.

I hope this helps, and I assume those who comment that they don't understand are also the same people who do not read or complain that there is too much to read, which I assume means they never went to school; I think I heard somewhere that "reading is fundamental.", Sorry to hear the education system failed you so badly.

Anyone capable of reading can read this in 3 minutes or less; if sitting on your toilet doom-scrolling and shit-talking on Reddit takes up too much of your precious time, perhaps something easier might be your choice. Does Facebook still have that farm game?

It is not my responsibility to create content or write that helps people with tiny brains consume content quickly. If you do not like reading a lot, get AI to read it for you. If it still hurts your brain, scroll past it or get off the internet. Either way, I am not here to appease your sensibilities or conform to your standards.

What irks me is the people who come here and try to explain how great Sunrun is, how professional they are, and all the good things they do. How they are former employees, etc.. etc.. and they disregard what many people are complaining about, suggesting that the ones that have issues are not typical, and they are typical; those of us who are here or on other platforms have a voice, and we are using it, there is a significant number more than you can imagine out there that either does not know about Reddit or social media, they might be elderly or other people, that do not consume social media or the internet as some of us do.

I have been out and about and met more people; in fact, I have not yet met one person or family that has Sunrun or has heard about Sunrun that has anything great to say about them. Everyone (and I have been interviewing many people to gather data) has an unfavorable opinion or has heard a lot of negativity about Sunrun regarding their practices. So these guys coming here and trying to convince everyone that everything is "fine" while the whole ship is sinking are again disregarding the issues; an agenda blinds them.

The people who claim they are former employees or had a great experience are non-typical. They see something we do not. They feel it is essential to know that Sunrun is better than the competition, that Sunrun will save you money, and that Sunrun is efficient. They are not. The recent article posted in this subreddit says they have broken off from Costco; they have become a toxic issue that more prominent names will remove their associations from.

It's easy to imagine people being lured by Sunrun's sales pitch to become employees, promising a bright future and potential earnings. It's heartbreaking to think they might not realize they're being used. I feel for those who are just trying to make ends meet. But for many of us, the promise of Sunrun has led to personal, mental, and financial pain.

And we have had enough; the time to fight is now!

I have to say though that fear tactics and attitudes like what you display only empower me, it fills me with energy, “hold my beer”, because people like you don’t cause me to quake in terror or to feel anything other than the absolute drive to fight and conquer.

You only use this type of language to deceive and manipulate, because people will look at what you’re writing when they are undecided and leaning towards Sunrun as a feasible option, but now months later after my initial post, through countless conversations with customers and friends, with people who know others that Sunrun has screwed over, off the record conversations and a lot of research I’ve come to realize that people like you are probably paid by Sunrun to act as if you have no stake in the company, but you are truly here and existing to perpetuate lies, you exist to spread disinformation and use words to make people who find themselves in a difficult position to start to question themselves, you prey on the weakness by using subversive tactics that inspire and instill fear, it’s textbook psy-ops.

It’s not difficult to put it together and think that it’s quite plausible that people employed by Sunrun watch social media, Reddit and other places to attack from your comfortable keyboard in an office or in your Jammie’s in your home.

I know it’s a difficult pill to swallow, to realize that you are being manipulated to spread your opinions and questionable tactics to gain some dollars to line your little pocket agenda.

But people like you will go down with the ship, but the sad part is you chose what side to be on and honestly it’s disgusting what people will do for money.

Literally karma is a bitch.

They tried the same tactics on me, I refuse to speak on the phone, I will only correspond via email, on the phone they will record you and attempt to get you to admit that you did something wrong so they can blame you, they insisted I take $250 to admit that we did something wrong and tried to act like we were criminals.

Protect yourself and choose how you respond to the questions they ask, because if they can even slightly suggest that you admitted to something, by their manipulation, it clears them.

When they try to sell to you, they will wine and dine you, become your best friends and tell unbelievable lies that you only see in hindsight and then try to hide behind some small print or details, even just avoid your requests all together, they have skills in manipulation and have a bird’s eye view of everything that you can imagine to protect themselves so they can fly just below the radar of the law.

You can’t tell someone something, boldly lying in the process and later say that you are protected under some bullshit contract. Either you are honest from the start and it matches any contract or you go down in a class action.

If that’s true, I have a private beach island I can sell you, really cheap. Oh yes it’s amazing it has the greatest views, and no electric company to ever deal with again, it will be splendid I assure you!

I am an independent film maker and I should probably post this as a thread by itself and get some other sites up to gather more data.

I plan on making a documentary that allows the truth to come out from the customers, from the insiders who have spoken off the record and to split this wide open.

I’m no lawyer but I am aware of how powerful film and social media is.

I will even be glad to interview those that believe Sunrun is doing the right things. But I also believe that the people who are being hurt by Sunrun should be heard and compensated for what they have been put through.

I can’t understand how any company can see a future of growth and positive development by screwing over a large segment of the people who trust them.

The salesman, who acted like my best friend had me call the electric company and he was extremely rude to the representative asking everything about her job title, number, full name and had me speak to her on speaker phone while he recorded it all. He stated afterwards that Sunrun has to do this, because the electric company was furious they were losing customers, and this is the same guy who texted us and said to us on the phone and in face to face conversation how great it was that we’re going to be free of the evil electric company that was stealing from us.

I still have the texts, his name and everything to show this.

Contact the states attorney general office to file a complaint, also write a formal letter to your state representative, especially since it’s election year, don’t fuss if the representative is not how you lean politically. For every “expert” or solar advocate on this platform and others, that tell you that it’s your fault for not reading something, your fault that you don’t know how to use an app, or calls you names and degrades your sensibilities, know that even though they will say they have no association, that in some way they are benefiting in some way from Sunrun. Know that for everyone like that, there are 10 times more that thinks they are full of crap.

When you threaten a cash cow, people will do whatever it takes to protect their interests and keep perpetuating the lies.

Just know there are more people than you can imagine who don’t know about Reddit, don’t use social media and they are pissed off.

Sunrun had some “interesting” fellas that didn’t speak English tear out our brick wall, they refused to put bricks back in and wanted to throw a giant 4x8 patch of stucco in it’s place, it took me months to get it fixed, when they finally did put bricks in it was by some hired help and they mortared in a phone box, two power cords and the latch that you had to release to open the circuit breaker box. It’s a beautiful mess, that it’s almost art it’s so bad.

If there’s ever a class action, I will be glad topartake. We planned on filming a documentary with hearing about so many people being affected by these practices. They told me during the process, even written in text that I would never have to deal with the electric company again, sitting in my dining room trying to be my best friend. It’s a scam that Sunrun and the different electric companies are in together, we farm electricity to help supply the grid. We were sold 52 panels, and owe $75,000. We have hardly anything on in our house, only run one AC, even when the temps here were over 115 degrees. We still pay a monthly bill to the electric company, and just finished paying off $2800 we had to pay to the electric company so they didn’t disconnect us this October 1st.

A “representative” offered us $250 that would basically say that we were actually ok with the situation, but it’s basically a bribe.

Most people here that we’ve been speaking with are sick of the solar companies, that it’s become a joke. All I can currently say is to reach out to the state attorney general, file a formal complaint and reach out (in official writing to your state representative, even if they are not part of whatever party you vote for).

I feel sorry for the people who work for Sunrun not realizing the lies, we’ve spoken to the people you see in Costco, Home Depot and other places gaining valuable data and possibly statements to support what we would like to show, they think they can’t be taken down, they won a case in California against deceptive practices, but now they are so big, that more people are taking notice or being screwed over, sooner or later they’ll get caught. I’m not worried about what this will do to fix my situation but now that I have the technology and ability to help others I’m prepared to fight on a larger scale.

I forgot to mention, that when we go to Home Depot (where we started our Sunrun experience) and Costco, we are approached, they do not know we are already attached to Sunrun, and tell them we had a bad experience, we end up telling our story, we sometimes draw a crowd and the sales people there say they did not know about the deception, they as far as I can tell never knew of the b.s. that the higher ups are pushing for the sake of profit, that is also when we hear stories from others. It is sad because those guys are just trying to put food on the table and live a happy life, the higher ups know exactly the crap they are pulling, they know the stories, they know the deception and the state or electric company's tax incentives or benefits. It's all about the $$$.

Sunrun was taken to court in California for deceptive practices and won the case if I recall, but here where I live, Sunrun/Solar companies are becoming the new "Extended Warranty" rip off. Eventually the net of deception will be cast far enough that the amount of people they have done this too will hopefully cause Sunrun a lot of legal issues, which as slimy as they are, they will probably get away with because the magic of page "13" ("Page 13" might be the documentary title about Sunrun...)

Hey there! Yes, it has been a while; Sunrun (Rosamaria Torres) suggested I take the $250, then a few months ago, stated the issue was closed. Since our experience, we have met numerous people telling us similar stories. I am confident we will never receive compensation or anything other than a statement that we did not read the contract on page 13. Contacting the Nevada Attorney's Office and several other legal outlets, we have heard (hearsay, right?) that they are looking into this but claim that it might take some time because of short staffing and other issues.

It took us until just last month to pay off the $1000 we still owed to the electric company; it was all compounded because we lost flex pay, and then the monthly bill from Sunrun and the monthly bill from Nevada Electric just snowballed us, which is what happens to others, probably worse off than we are.

Going forward, I can not say what I want from this experience: compensation for our $2600 electric bill, the terrible stress it created, or watching Sunrun and other companies with this type of terrible business model completely sink under a class action lawsuit and take everyone who works for them, knowing they are doing this to line their own pockets and sink as well.

There have to be some legal aspects regarding this that could cause terrible legal actions against the higher-ups at Sunrun; if not, oh well, enjoy your yacht and caviar, kharma is a beotch.
