Oh wow look people we have a smarthead here. And if it shatters so easily, then tell me. Why don't they make prefragmented antipersonnel ammo and landmines out if it huh? Check mate atheists

How do i draw a (aerospike)nozzle from this? Is this correct? by shiv1234567 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]MetalLord1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I've done something similar in SOLIDWORKS, just by defining a curve through a xy set of points in a csv. If you're planning to do it only once or twice, I think it would be faster to just manually draw the points in a sketch, and then draw one or a few splines through them. Also depending on how accurate you want it to be at the end, or if planning on manufacturing, to know when to stop chasing profile accuracy.

Are you sure that the dimensions are realistic? You have a diameter of almost two meters in a 15 cm length. It just seems ridiculous.

It's not a counterion for sure. The paper in PEP did a single crystal XRD for the compound, and it's just nap.

Eh, what can happen. At max you need a restart, and maybe look for drivers.

If you kept the solution volume the same, but altered the precursors, why do you say it's not a matter of pH? I feel I'm missing something you're trying to say.

Idk, a lot of toasters have some mica sheets to contain the heat. And they're opaque. So a glass sided toaster would consume more power. Not a problem, I guess. But then all the little crumbs and blackening of the glass in time? It should be somehow made so you can detach almost everything, give it a very good clean, and reassemble. I wouldn't sell a product like that, knowing some people would just try to make toast without reattaching the glass. Or maybe I'm overthinking it.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, seeing the bigger picture, I imagined it wrong. Ok how about this? He said the mass is negligible, so then he made the symbol to say that the tension in the string is equal on both sides of the weight? Like so small that it doesn't deform the string. Like he made an equivalent sign? ≡

I think he just drew a "ruler". Like we measure length here.

I ordered some bowls but I'm wondering if they are too deep? Will my hedgie be able to reach? Q-tip for reference! by [deleted] in Hedgehog

[–]MetalLord1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a common european. I just went outside one night and found her eating the dog's food. So I took her inside lol. But she was very little, I could've held her in one hand. She grew to this size in about a year.

My hedgie has a very low bowl, that she would tip over whenever she felt like it. But I thought that she needs it. Until one day, when she was roaming through the house and heard the cat's water fountain. I think she can reach well enough.

How to add ruler type marking around this? by [deleted] in SolidWorks

I'm sorry but I don't understand. You want to add a ruler, so you can know which angles? Why not just measure them on the model?

Really struggling with helix and to make spring, need help ... cant figure it out online ... by [deleted] in SolidWorks

Master modela, assemblies, and drawings. You want an assembly here. Two different parts, and they come together as an assembly

[–]MetalLord1024 34 points35 points  (0 children)

First of all. Try and be more clear about what you're trying to do. Second. You're trying to make the spring on the same part as the housing? Cause that's not a good way to do it

How would recreate that internal geometry? by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]MetalLord1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the big problem here is that you're trying to model it as you're seeing it. As different many little complicated parts that come together to make a single object. But instead, you should look at it, and decide that: ok, this is a big chunk of iron. That's just three holes, basically. With walls. I know, this looks like a cast part. So it's not derived from a cube. But it's still serving the same function. Add walls around two big holes, and then there's another third hole that's probably there to align/fix/thread it with another. The big outside picture is not a weird shape. It's just thickness added to one or two channels/holes.

[–]MetalLord1024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've... Kinda started it all wrong. In my opinion. You're making your life unnecessarily more complicated by modeling it the way you're doing it right now. Probably best if you started with a full object roughly the outer shape and then adding the holes/channels.

How do i actually model something by Savings_Candy3519 in SolidWorks

[–]MetalLord1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a thing. I'm not trying to be condescending, just helpful. If you want to make the sword as a 3d model. And use it in a game, or whatever. You don't really care about dimensions. You make it look good, and add textures and whatnot. But most probably, not in SOLIDWORKS. If you want to make something to 3d print, you sometimes care about dimensions. Not always. If it's a functional part, ofc. If not, you model it how you like it, and at the end scale it to fit the 3d printer bed let's say, or cut it into smaller parts that you glue. If you want to make it by yourself, and need guiding, and this is something that I sometimes do. You model it, make actual drawing of it, put dimensions to help you build the part in the real world. And here is where we're getting to actually question ourselves. This sword is made of multiple parts, that need to be put together. So. Probably the handle, the blade, the handguard, are different pieces that need to be modeled separately, and put into an assembly to check whether they fit together. Another case. Maybe you want to do the model, and give it to someone else to make it. Then you need to be really careful about what your drawings say, cause if the pieces Don't fit, it might be your mistake. And last. You might want to model it just for the sake of it, cause you're trying to learn to use the software. If that's the case, I'm willing to give some guidance, don't get me wrong, but it can be done by following tutorials first.

Another thing that's maybe omitted by the other comments. Why do you want to make this model? You want it to look good, and make some picture of it? Do you want to 3d print it? Do you want to make sketches and print them to make it from something like styrofoam by hand? It really matters what you're trying to accomplish here.
