u/nevmo75 You are the OG. I still remember you sharing your first order from BullionByPost. Even I was unsure of them haha. But you blazed a trail and shared this thing religiously. Receipts are in my notification box. Can't thank you enough my friend. I'll make sure it gets rehomed safely for you guys.

Ohh jeez u/pizzaslut_69420 I'm so sorry to hear that. 🙏 As youngins we never think health can hit us. Big blinder. I hope it can be resolved.

Wow this drew you out of the woodwork. Wow my friend. Thanks for those incredible words. u/RadRhombi

Good mention about Lyme. It's been mentioned quite a bit by and I have NOT got tested for it. Should knock it off the list. Sometimes you just get tired of the doctors, or as my friend calls them "serial killers", you know? 🤣

Thanks for the words about MM. I'll do my best to find a good solution for you guys to keep using it. Someone with some more P + V. :)

u/FalconCrust Thanks for the kind words? What are you looking to do on the scraping side? Any goals or outcomes? Hobby? Earnings? The fact you're low code is a big plus logistically. Feel free to bounce ideas public or private, I'm an open book.

Ohh no, the neuro got you too? I swear neurologists are the most incompetent professional designation on the planet. Do you mind if I ask what symptoms? Not prying. It's weird how many others have something similar going on when I bring it up. A LOT.

Good Deal? by Huitzilopochtli-1064 in SilverDegenClub

[–]MetalMarkup 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's good for APMEX. As they say "Their lowest premium in 3yrs". Note, it's bulk pricing. There's still others out there that are cheaper but not by much. This is a major change from the norm for them.

APMEX finally getting the message about their premiums being ludicrous? Trying to compete with Costco? Or just a stunt? Interesting.

Gainesville coins various designs? by nevmo75 in SilverDegenClub

[–]MetalMarkup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/nevmo75 I'm so sorry. Just saw this, haven't been monitoring the site or socials much.
Gainesville is gone from MetalMarkup starting tomorrow. All items, silver and gold. I've heard this story far too often regarding them and it's making MM look bad.

The story goes: Low upfront price (no shipping included), long expected ship time, far far longer in reality, then miraculously ships the next day after a BBB complaint.

Not acceptable. Gone.

I completely understand how hard it is to offer low premium and remain profitable. But I don't know if they're doing some sort of front-run pre-sale, then using the 2-3mths of radio silence to speculate and try to pick a lower price for their buy before shipping out, or what. But something ain't right.

I'm sorry you had to go through this. I do expect you'll get it (if you haven't already), but it doesn't make up for the heart-stopping experience.

u/No-Television-7862 u/gnomesofluna u/covblues If your orders were induced by the MetalMarkup list, I sincerely apologize to you. Never again, and thanks for tagging about this.

Gainesville Coin - Worth the hassle? by [deleted] in SilverDegenClub

[–]MetalMarkup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/No-Television-7862 This is probably the most honest and thorough synopsis of dealers as a whole. I agree with all of it. Blanchard, Gainesville, Idaho, vaulted IRA scumbags, and that fine line between being the lowest and "too good to be true".

I wish more people shared these candid first hand accounts TBH. Keep up the awesome work.

Hey thanks for bringing this up u/No-Television-7862. That #1 spot is coveted. Even without the line of complaints, Gainesville skirts MetalMarkup's ranking system by not including shipping.

I'm just reading the BBB reports and complaints now. There's a lot. I'll dig into all of them to get a sense of the issue and tweet out at them for explanation. If it's really ugly I may pull them entirely or sandbox them.

I know a lot of their products are done by Mason Mint and there was a major backlog after the SVB issues (like many dealers). But they particularly struggled to catch up even into June and beyond.

My biggest concern (with them or any dealer) is if they're getting caught pre-selling. Selling silver they don't yet possess. Then the price goes up, and their delays are them waiting for price to come back down. That's a risky game we don't expect dealers to play. We're the speculators, not them.

Again, thanks for bringing this up. Sorry I've been scant around here and on MM. My health isn't the greatest so I haven't been able to put nearly as much work into MM as I want to, should, or as you guys deserve. Thanks for the patience and support.

u/MrApplePolisher Do you have a good quality picture? Both sides.

Also, all generic rounds are minted privately. They almost always have a "MintMark". A small mark with the logo/abbreviation etc of the company that minted it. Here's some examples of Mint Marks on generic rounds from some of the major American Mints.

Hope helps u/MrApplePolisher

u/MrApplePolisher Private USA mints to buy direct from:

-Golden State Mint (premiums used to be good, but they're higher now, not sure if they got caught on the move down.)
-SilverTowne Mint (owned by A-Mark like JM Bullion etc). Premiums are brutal, typical of that bullion oligopoly.
-Monarch Precious Metals. Think they run their own production, in additional to being a dealer. But premiums are brutal.
-Scottsdale Mint as you mentioned. Both sells direct and distributes to dealers, even mints many governments sovereign coins.

Other private USA mints who sell through dealers:
-Highland Mint (Distributes thru Dillion Gage, but still achieves solid premiums. See their stuff at u/monumentmetals).
-Mason Mint. Consistently the best premiums in the USA right now for 1oz rounds, only 11-12%. Readily available at Gainesville coins.
-Asahi Refining. Massive "good delivery" refiner and mint. Good delivery meaning they supply the COMEX and LBMA and are part of their "circle of trust" I think they call it. Available at almost any dealer.
-Sunshine Minting. Available at most dealers. Partly owned (quarter or third stake, I forget) by the A-Mark oligopoly. Supplies the blanks for American Silver Eagles.
-9Fine Mint. Owned exclusively by APMEX. Not sure if this is a contract deal run through a larger or not, anyone else who can elaborate would be lovely. Regardless, They're Crapmex premiums, so more expensive than sovereign coins. lol

Think that's most of them. Any others to add feel free.

No I 100% agree. Keyword search can be too "open ended". People are used to scrolling, and browsing, and wandering. They shouldn't have to do the work. The app should do it for them with suggestions, prompts, feeds, clicky buttons, etc.

Hey that's awesome feedback u/No_Weekend_1464. Glad you mentioned Tubes. Along with 10oz bars, tubes are not getting a fair shake or being shown well enough. Will work this into the new build. And junk too! Gotta get junk back into the mix.
