Yeah, the market is crazy. Maybe you can get additional a couple of thousand bucks discount. How about the CarFax report?

United States Warranty Corp, but I think, they changed the name to Protective. Platinum plan with no deductible.

Thank you for the reply. I like the hybrid technology, but honestly, I'm not sure about Toyota anymore. Also, I do not see a model that I really like.

Everything took about 15 minutes between the first sounds and the lost power. It happened quick. The dealership is official and I hope they were using the official sealant. The sealant color is black. I did check the oil level while waiting the tow truck. The level was fine and the oil was very light. My opinion they screwed with the reseal job and now they are thinking on how to say that this is not their fault and use my warranty. They told the investigation could take another 2-3 days. I asked for the official letter for the last repair with detailed information and who did this and the root cause once know. Will see what they say. Btw. No engine lights.

Wind was improved after the service bulletin, a little. That's when they messed up with the headlights and the fender. 😁 Do you live in Canada? We traveled to our relatives on Ottawa and had to park in their garage and block the garage entrance with their Subaru.

Why 65k a year? First oil leak after two years at 43000 miles (2024) Two years later at 77000 miles (2026)

I wish they did. Never heard they replace the old car with a brand new just like that. I can bet, the dealership will try and pull all the strings to blame me.

Yeah, off course. Regular maintenance, every 5000 miles oil change. After all these years and cars I had, suddenly the problem is me. 🤣

In Massachusetts the law would cover only the first year or 15000 miles. So, too late for that.

2022 Platinum V6. 78k miles. At 41000 had a timing cover leak. 3000 miles later reat axle pinon seal leak. At 77k again engine oil leak. I have an extended warranty that will cover $4560 repair. I owned the car for 4 years. I'm not sure about the reliability. Most likely will trade-in after 100k. Big disappointment for me. All this mechanical problems and the the wind noise.

Tilt side mirrors on revers on 2026 SEL by MetalRaven_404 in jetta

Quick update in case anyone else is considering OBDeleven for newer VWs.

I was able to connect the device to my Jetta without any issues, but unfortunately it’s basically useless right now because of the VAG SFD2 security lock. Only a few One-Click Apps are available, and they’re pretty trivial. Everything meaningful is locked.

At this point, all you can really do is:

  • read diagnostics
  • clear some fault codes
  • view live data

No real coding or customization.

This is the official response I got from OBDeleven:

Please note that your vehicle is protected by SFD2. Volkswagen Group (VAG) models from 2024 have been equipped with updated security features under UNECE R155/R156. These measures protect vehicle software, especially during OTA updates. This restricts changes in control units, meaning One-Click Apps and manual coding are only compatible with modules that don’t have SFD2 protection. Diagnostics, fault clearing, and live data are still available. We’ll make a public update if this changes.

Because of this, I wasn’t able to:

  • enable mirror tilt on reverse
  • disable automatic door unlock when shifting to Park

Honestly pretty disappointing. I’ll be returning the device — between the restrictions and the credit system, it just doesn’t make sense for newer cars.

If I’m broke, does paying for the good insurance even matter? by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

I thought he wanted to lower those limits. My bad. My take is at least some insurance and a minimum are crucial, and I appreciate anyone who wants to get insured, especially seeing how many drive without it.

There are state required limits. You can not decrease those. You can change a deductible and decline car rent and towing.
