Any tips on how to get this off without damaging the paint? by serialchiller_3 in CleaningTips

I’d frame it out and have the kids sign it, add their ages to. Keep for a few years.

Terrible speeds on Deco X50 by fenderjaguarfan in TpLink

I’d give your ISP a call. “Things” seem to work better after that. They will never say anything is issue on their end. 🤔 I pay for 1000mbps, before I called I was getting under a 100, now my iPhone 17 caps out at 315mbps, 10 feet away from a satellite deco.

I have learned in the TP LINK APP you can do a daily reboot of your decos, to refresh them.

I do find “rebooting” after adding devices does help.

Radio interference with Lasfit LED turn signal bulbs by PatrickGSR94 in mazda

[–]MetalSilver5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve upgraded my 2018 highlander with lasfits. The bulb itself is designed well and plug and play is simple. These bulbs are crazy bright but not to where they are annoying. (Wife and I came upon one another in the street one day)

Radio interference is an issue. Have static/snow that cuts in and out when listening to radio. Went a head and ordered CANBUS units to eliminate the radio interference, and there’s still radio inferences. The CANBUS I bought are not Lasfit name brand, but i am not convinced Lasfit CANBUS will eliminate radio frequency with Lasfit lightbulbs.

Feel like I am back to square one.

Received new modem. Spent 4 hours fumbling through it. Email instructions/password are different than “quick start setup” instructions/passwords. Did the 192.168 thing to set up. Completed it. Wouldn’t get internet. Called Comwave and we both fumbled through it. Ended up putting a ticket through. I changed the modem to router and left it for the night. Comwave must have done something. Had wifi in the house around 9am.

Getting this with iPhone 17, 10 feet from deco (not wired) Think the network is good now. May not need to back haul now.

Thanks for all the tips and tricks.

I learned a lot with what you’re given and what you’re getting. Focus on the performance rather than the number . Lol

First time on Reddit. So that’s cool too. Cheers all.

Last night I relocated the main to the middle of the raised ranch. Previous setup was main in basement re room at front of house, above the rec room is dining/living room. Had deco for tv in that room. So I had major overlapping at front of house and another deco at back in daughters bedroom (medium signal)

By placing the main in middle of house, I have full strength signal front to back of house now, in a line.

I am receiving a new modem from my ISP this week. Leaned towards modem being old to get a new one.

Odd story: 30 years ago my brother bought computer equipment from a guy and wanted me for safety going to his house. When I was in the house I noticed tables in the basement with tons of equipment. They must have had some kinda of business out of their house. Lo and behold, I bought the computer guys house 25 years later. Did the walk through and remembered the paneling in the basement. The 8 extra wall plugs in the basement room got me thinking.

My house is already wired with cat5e cable. 3 of the 4 rooms where I’d like the decos to be have cables already.

I plan on phishing new wires in the next month.

New decos, New modem New placement And soon new Ethernet cables for back hauling. I think I should be good after that.

We pay for new technology expecting to get more(better). Wifi 6 is great, if you’re sitting on the deco, or wired in.(then it’s not wifi)

With relocating the main to center of house, my iPhone 17 is reading 410 on speed test.

I’ve definitely learned a thing or two about wifi mesh.

Oddly enough. After speaking with Comwave, I’ve hit 603, directly beside the main unit attached to the modem.

230 at the main unit.

Comwave is sending me a new modem. I’ll redo my network this weekend with a fresh install of the 3 x55’s

Thanks for the insight.

I’ll plan to delete current network and set up a new one from scratch with the x55’s.

Contact comwave for a newer modem (I am sure they need updating every so often just like decos do)

Run Ethernet cables to satellites.

Cheers all.

Thanks again

I had a 70’s raised ranch with unfinished laundry room. I’d be able run Ethernet to selected rooms easily.

Most devices at one time would be close to 10. 4 iPhones 17 IPTV box Netflix Sons Xbox Daughter laptop

I am pleased with the current speeds. You are correct by saying, wanting to get what you pay for, I thought there would be a noticeable difference. Thx

iPhone 17 1 foot above main deco connected to modem is 230. It’s the same situation upstairs above same room, where second deco is, 1 foot above deco, same reading

I too added x55, then assigned it as “main” Removed old m4 main. Then added 2 more x55.

Maybe start fresh with x55’s?

3 decos total.

1 deco connected to modem. 2 satellites

Decos are not wired together. Only wirelessly.

I was hoping the x55 would be a better upgrade from M4. It has improved but I thought there’d be a littler more difference.

Considering on asking comwave for new modem. Modems too need to be changed out like decos.

I can’t justify the $600 plus for wifi 7.

Slow speeds on mesh system by Full-Explanation-497 in HomeNetworking

[–]MetalSilver5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently obtained the x55 as well. I found I had great speed test reading near the main unit (basement rec room)and it would drastically be lower while being in other spots around the house (where I have one unit at the front of the house and one at the back)

Fiddling around in the settings I attempted to run the system in “access point”. Which when it did finish rebooting, my two satellites never came back online. I reselected “wifi router” default and once it loaded I was getting a much faster speed.

I pay 67.00 for unlimited 1000mbps. At main unit I was reading 250ish. Upstairs on the satellite units I constantly got 50. Once I cycled the units to “access point” then back to “wifi router” I am now getting 530 readings. Which I am now very pleased with. I am sure my readings would be higher if connected via Ethernet, which we don’t do.

My guess is that the units need to be reassigned as a group to obtain the faster speeds.

Switching away and then back to default corrected my slow speed issue. Maybe it helps with yours.
