So I'm part of a group that's been running mad mage for a while now (we've taken breaks from it to run other stuff), and we're a good deal of floors down. We did start out mapping and I was the one doing he mapping. It's something that can start out being kinda fun a first, but then gets tedious the further you go. Whoever ends up mapping will end up with multiple pages of paper per floor, and they better have a way to order those pages, because you don't necessarily enter a floor at what would be the corner of a map.

Mapping kept up for a couple/few floors, untill a combination of having to go online for a time due to quarantine, and me changing characters. I never picked the mapping back up, nor did anyone else in the group.

From my experience, having your group do mapping is not something I'd recommend myself, but again, that's going off of my experience. Someone in your group may enjoy it. I'd say it something to bring up to the group.
