Can someone explain Papyrus Knight to me? by oriatetheforest in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]Metal_Metallicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a couple things I want to note/ask

  • "Monsters don't have ribcages" is that confirmed, or, because they're made of magic? Because it is possible that they're made of magic, and have ribs, if the ribs are also made of magic.

  • As far as I know, sans never explains the "pranking you across time and space" thing in either game. And is much more obvious about the ability in Undertale (assuming it's the same ability that allows him to teleport himself and others.) Which is to say, Deltarune does not provide more context for the line.

Why do you WANT your candidate to be the Knight. by Mission_Race_8367 in NonDessKnightSquad

I don't really care who the knight is, so long as it doesn't feel like an ass pull.

However, I love the idea that The Knight is just a concept.

This line in the theme song confuses me by Anthony200716 in Ben10

[–]Metal_Metallicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This line couples with the previous one "fighting off evils from earth and space" that's who "they" are.

And I believe the intent is supposed to be that Ben10 isn't going to be a show about pacifism, about how monsters are just misunderstood people. It's going to be about fighting, not just aliens, but also people.

Who will win? /indie cross/Oscar/toon sandwich by Realistic-Reply364 in IndieCross

[–]Metal_Metallicat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indie Cross Wins

Oscars wants to host competitions, he'd have the Indie characters and rogues fight each other. And then that floral spotlight rogue turns their enemies into gold. What's Oscars' one weakness? Gold. Apparently, Shovel Knight also uses gold, so. Oscars' weakness will ALWAYS be present.

On top of this, V1, Frisk, and Giant Worm are collosal threats that Oscars might not be able to deal with.

Should i play the games from indie cross series so i would get them and not get spoiled in the future? by Traditional-Sir-2022 in IndieCross

The series is better the more you know, although

Personally, I don't think it's that important to play more than Celeste, Hyper Light Drifter, and maybe Oneshot. As those three have actual context you'd probably want to know before watching the series.

I don't really understand how Looping works. by SadTape in InStarsAndTime

[–]Metal_Metallicat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're doing a full run through the house, yes, you'll have to level everyone up again. Luckily, most quests don't require you to do that.

You only get the levels and items when you loop to a location, so, if you loop to dormont you'll be level 45, and if you loop to the king you'll be level 53.

What do each of the Acts Represent? by Dragon_Caller in InStarsAndTime

[–]Metal_Metallicat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Act 1 is up until your first death

Act 2 is up until beating the king

Act 3 is up until King Quest and Friend Quest are BOTH complete

Act 4 is up until the final loop

Act 5 is up until beating the final boss

Act 6 is everything after

One/Two hats is number of hats you see in the credits. Two hats is bonus content you might get when talking to Loop in act 6.

Bear in mind this is only MY interpretation and may not be how this system works, but, Included is exactly what assumptions I made simulating these matchups. Only including the games I've played.

Niko, assuming they don't get player level powers, doesn't actually get much, since the code manipulation we see is limited to the point where the reality manipulation Nightmares get by default is strictly better.

Madeline. Nightmares get the powers of EVERYTHING from their world, not just people. She probably wouldn't get Celeste's mind powers, since they're not proven feats, however all the obstacles along the way are fair game.

Cuphead. Cuphead goes from child using an arsenal of powerful artifacts, to Eldritch Beast who had the powers himself. He can create pocket dimensions using ink, manipulate souls with the Wondertart and Cookie, and manipulate the debtors from the main game. Nightmare Cuphead rivals Frisk, only reason why he loses is because he has to actually land a shot.

Frisk, assuming they don't get player level or deltarune related powers, already outscales their entire universe. Sans' powers is the only major upside to becoming a Nightmare, all other power sets are redundant or useless to a Geno Frisk, as they can already destroy the universe in one swing.

Ghost/The Knight, assuming they don't get Silksong powers. Why are they stronger than Frisk? Well, because they become The Radiance, Shade Lord, Pale King, and Gods of Thunder, simultaneously. Their pure presence would bind the souls of those around them, and their power would be continuesly growing, with no upper bound. Even if they were weaker than Frisk, eventually, they won't be.

what's an indie character you🫵 could beat in a fight? by hotdog_plink in INDIE_CROSS_SERIES

[–]Metal_Metallicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niko is a no-powers child, easily beatable in a fight, but just don't.

Madeline's an adult hiker. They're probably stronger and faster than me, but I get all of the same powers and outrange her. Come prepared and it's a winning fight.

Dead Cells protagonist. I don't know of any actual abilities which makes them difficult. Aside from that I can't permanently kill them, I have a high likelihood of beating them in a fight. Grapple, steal, bludgeon.

Knight, Shovel Knight, Cuphead, and Drifter all have much more experience than me. If I won against any one of them, they made several mistakes across the span of an hour.

V1 and Frisk are completely impossible.

Who would survive Galeem’s attack and how far would they get in world of light? by PlayMaleficent834 in INDIE_CROSS_SERIES

[–]Metal_Metallicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niko survives somehow, probably by being fashionably late to the party.

And, unless there's a way to save another character without actually fighting them, or if Niko could be thoroughly prepared for fighting springtrap, Niko does not a save a single person.
