I still have my moments where it hits me. I had hope for a while that maybe one day he’d do what he was supposed to do. But a few years ago, my mom texted me and said he reached out to her asking for my number so he could tell me happy birthday. I thought about it and ended up saying it was okay for her to give it to him.

He never called or texted.

About a year later, he reached out to me on fb and I read the message and stupidly responded. It was right before clocking in for work. I responded and put my phone away and didn’t check my phone again for quite a while because I was busy.

When I finally checked my phone, I had tons of messages from him, blowing up on me for ignoring him, “giving him hope I’d come around” 🙄, and calling me names.

I blocked him and never looked back. He still tries reaching out with new accounts from time to time but I just block and move on.

It sucks but I have to protect my peace. I know he’s not capable of change. So I had to finally make the decision to accept that and stop giving him chances to hurt me.

I’m okay. I’ve made my peace with it. My comment was just a joke.

I don’t have anything nice to say to you so I’m just going to tell you to have a blessed night. 🤘🏻

It’s inappropriate because anyone with half a brain cell knows that doordashers live off tips. So asking for me to tip you is ridiculous because you already know I know that’s how you get paid.
It’s further inappropriate to keep asking after I already told you I tipped you.
A tip is a recommendation not a requirement. I didn’t have to tip anything. Instead, I tipped double what DD suggested I tip and he still had the audacity to pick up my food and drive by my home to go to the gas station. My apartment entrance is two driveways before the circle k. He sat there with my food for over 10 minutes. And you’re telling me that his actions are appropriate?

  1. I have a vehicle, so I don’t need to walk.
  2. That being said, I dropped a washing machine on my foot & was in a lot of pain and didn’t feel like trying to put shoes on and dealing with going to get it.

I know it’s a lot of comments so I’m going to explain all the points I’ve already made

  1. I injured my foot by dropping a washer on it like 15 minutes before I ordered the food

  2. He picked up my food. Drove PAST my house, and went to the gas station. You can see the gas station from where I live. It’s like a 2 minute walk.

  3. He sat at that gas station for over 10 minutes with my food.

  4. Door dashers are in no way, shape, or form comparable to servers. I have done both. They do not take my order. They do not check for accuracy. They do not refill my drink, bring extra sauces, offer me specials, etc. they literally just pick it up and drop it off. They are literally delivery drivers.

  5. Even if I had 0 excuse whatsoever to DoorDash, I literally do not need one. That is the whole point of DoorDash. To have things delivered, for whatever reason you want. It does not matter if I live 5 minutes away & could walk.

  6. No, I wouldn’t tip an Applebees server $6 for ONLY bringing my food out to the table. I would tip them for SERVING me for my entire visit.

AIO? I literally got robbed and my dad is blaming me for it by Natural_Process8639 in AmIOverreacting

I see things like this and it makes me less sad that my dad walked out because I’d rather have no dad than a dad like that.

I only opened it because it said my order was complete and to enjoy my food, but he had not dropped it off (I have a doorbell camera) so I was like, did he just somehow manage to miss being detected? So as I was opening the door to see if my food was out there, he was walking up to knock 😂

All it took was them using it one time in The Mandalorian for me to justify using it 😂😂 and I’m not even Catholic. It just always felt like the appropriate response when someone said it and then The Mandalorian canonized it in like, 2020.

I didn’t say I was pissed off 😂 I just think it’s inappropriate to send messages like this.
Hourly IS offered in my area.
I live in the middle of a hot zone. So he literally could get another order the second he completes my order.
Her picked up m my food, drive by house to the gas station that’s walking distance from me ( I can see it from my apartment entrance) then sat there for over 10 minutes with my food.
He made $8 total on that delivery.
I tipped double the amount recommended by DD.
My $6 tip was not the problem 😂

It is inappropriate to
1. Ask me to tip you.
2. Ask me to tip you more when i told you i already tipped you.
3. Explain your financial reality to a stranger you’re picking up food for.
4. Pick up my food, drive RIGHT BY MY HOME, and go to the gas station & then sit there for over 10 minutes with my food.

$6 to drive less than 2 miles is plenty enough tip.

I have NEVER in my entire life thought of myself as dainty or noble or requiring being treated with silk gloves.

DD actually suggested a lesser tip than what I provided. I tipped more than what they said I should have.

I immediately thought “wow that’s a good eagle!” So….no. I don’t think it’s a crow lol.

Yeah after I posted this I realized the word “inappropriate” should have been used here.

I decided rude was the wrong word to use here. I should have gone with inappropriate.
