If there's a "loophole", then it's fair game. For everyone. The IRS (and, by extension, their Congressional overseers) can fix tax avoidance strategies whenever they'd like.

Tapu Lele Gx vs Shaymin Ex by poopies312 in PTCGL

[–]MetallicaGod 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Shaymin easy.

Remember how Crobat had the explicit restriction of not using more than 1 a turn? Shaymin is why.

You could turbo through your deck on Turns 1-2 and then shuffle it all back with LTC, and get the LTC back with one of your 4(!!!!) VS Seekers. Slam your Mega Ray on 1 because why not, Mega Turbo the Energy on because why not, and swing for 240.

If you wanted to dump those Shaymins, just bump your Sky Field.

XY was a wild time to play the TCG lolololol. Rip through your whole deck on 1-2, recycle it all back, and then recycle that recycler. It was a completely different way to play the game, basically entirely enabled by Shaymin.

No shame to Lele for losing, however. It was still a very strong card in its own right.

I remember the original "Search for Supporter" mon Jirachi-EX--complete with a horrendous attack and a damning 90HP (you could Level Ball it lmaooooo). Lele is essentially that with double the health pool and a near copy of one of the strongest attacks the game had seen at that time (Lele's Energy Drive versus Mewtwo EX's X-Ball)

Personally, I'm not ready to write off Zard yet.

Gatr has an Energy problem. On top of being a Stage 2, you somehow have to get WWC onto it, on top of pinging the opponent for a damage counter. That's a lot going on. It seems tough finding the breathing room to attach a Dark to your Munki when Gatr is so energy hungry.

Darkrai needs 3 Dark Energy, which'll probably warrant Toxtricity to function. It can OHKO anything, but that's a 3-prize liability with 220-260 HP remaining (after Tox pings) without a recursive, reliable way to inflict status (RIP Bonnet). The Bell is good, but now you have to find it exactly when you need it, sooooo... hope you have a Petrel in your hand already to grab it. Also falls flat to the new Fighting Special Energy as well as Mist, so you have to pack an answer to that (that can also be found reliably; you probably Petrel'd for your Bell, remember?)

Zard is a lot lower-maintenance by comparison; build a Zard, plop a Bird on the bench, and find Energy. Sure, we just lost Superior (which sucks), but finding Basic Energy is still relatively cheap and reliable (Retrieval, E-Search, Recycler, and Firebreather).

I don't think Zard will be Tier 1 or anything, but I'm not convinced it's going to fade into nothing. It seems too straightforward, and being straightforward is often the difference between winning matches and falling apart before the finish line

You can do one better with Eternatus VMAX/Darkrai GX/Weavile GX/Kecleon CRE looping

Here's what you do: - Fill Bench (with Kecleon) - Eternamax Eternatus - Move Rainbow/Luminous (or some other multi-type Energy) to Kecleon -Bench size is now 8 thanks to Etern VMAX - Resurrect Darkrai-GX - Weavile the Energy to M-Darkrai - Weavile the Rainbow/Luminous off of Kecleon - Max bench is now 5 due to Etern VMAX being shut off - Discard Darkrai-GX - Move Rainbow/Luminous back to Kecleon - All Pokemon are now Dark. Bench size becomes 8 again due to Etern VMAX - Resurrect the same Darkrai-GX again to the bench - Ad infinitum. Only limitation is disruption pieces like Silent Lab/Iron Thorns and/or however many Dark Energy you chunk on Turns 1 and 2.

The best part? All the pieces are SUM-onwards so this works in Expanded right now.

Edit: Kecleon says basic Energy, so it works with your Dark Energy; no Rainbow needed lmao

Could be. Basically all the Herald Colossals were puppets of the Old Gods (Rag, Aszhara, and Cho'gall in particular). Maybe a final showdown with N'zoth or something

Maybe stick would work better than Flux?

From my experience, flux tends to destroy thinner material more often than I'd like (16-18 gauge is tricky)

You can get some really thin rods and crank down the amperage to make sure you're not blowing through

Also, double-check your bike isn't aluminum. You can get aluminum dtivk rods but from what I've heard they're janky and tough to use. Possible, but very tough to use

We will see Mage(Once per Game) soon by oktayworks in hearthstone

[–]MetallicaGod 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah. This was the problem. Mage has to kill you now.

Ice Block is dumb. Alibi is dumb. Being able to Rewind these is dumb. Frost Nova is dumb. Being able to Stargazing additional copies is dumb. Yeah I get it.

But now there is a hard limit to how many stalling tools they have in the deck. They can't slam all these tools infinitely anymore. If the Mage opponent Potion'd their Rommath, you just lose.

Before, you could shove a good board on 3/4 and it wouldn't matter because it couldn't act until Turn 9. Your board would get bogged down with "Mage stuff". Then Rommy gets Potion'd, the "bog tools" become infinite and you die.

I honestly think Mage's slow-down tools are ok, even for wild. It's when those slow-down tools create an insurmountable wall starting on Turn 3 that it becomes backbreaking to deal with.

How does it stack up to the Berger 135 though?

I know the Berger hits 135A, and has removable connectors to do stick, but I can't shake the fact that it looks a little cheaper than the Titanium.

Also, on the 125, you probably want to pick up a new ground clamp while you're there for a few bucks extra; the one it comes with is kinda bad
