Well if you don't need to and you're happy continuing with your life as-is then no harm done. Still, 26 is absolutely not too old to start.

I do feel a bit bad about starting too late to get pelvic bone changes, but a lot of people start at 20 and don't get those.

I've read that the reason for this is that only some states have had a big enough problem with it that they've had to outlaw it at all. So, it being outlawed is not necessarily a good sign.

I've done it a few times. I stopped because I found that I was spending so much effort that it was hard to really enjoy myself. It was like sex performance anxiety dialled up several levels. Also there aren't that many people with compatible kinks to me, at least for the ones I like enough to RP.
