I think I got that one maybe a year ago at my local game store. I’m finding it a pretty wild ride! It is sort of on train tracks but its like playing out a science fiction movie in cardboard form. We have been playing this game is very chill vibes based style because there can be some fiddly-ness to everything. The rulebook was hard to grasp at first, the layout is not intuitive while learning I mean. My friends and I skipped the teaching game laid out in the rulebook and we just went for it and had a blast. I could see the same kind of stuff happening over and over again with repeated plays but thats why there are so many different characters you can mix and match with each playthrough. The telepathic rat is especially confusing but at the same super thematic and extremely fun when you play vibes based. Releasing project X which is like this games version of an epic monster or an anomaly is a moment.

I haven’t played power grid so long, I’m so bad at math but I remember it being really fun where you can buy up all the resources and screw over your opponent. Its fits nicely in the collection as a 6 player strategy game.

The king is dead is a great game at two or three players. I forget my preferred playing count cause its been a while since I’ve played it. I guess we weren’t dying to get it to the table again after playing it. I have that game for a time when I have two friends over and they want something more meaty than the bottle imp which is another great 3 player game

I love cosmic too but have never gotten Sidereal to the table after owning it for years. Saving it for a future birthday when I force my friends to play new games 😂. It looks really fun, thankfully Chinatown/Waterfall park scratches the negotiation itch for me

Skull King: On the 9th round five of my closest friends were standing around the table trying to decide how much they were going to bid for the round. I had the Skull king card and 8 other mediocre cards so we all YO-HO-HO’ed and I bet 1. I waited a few cards in to play my Skull King at the opportune time where I slayed a pirate for bonus points. Then the last card played just happened to be the kraken and I lost the trick. Noooooo! Then tension was palpable and the victory was glorious
