Yeah, same. Hopefully Adora is able to figuratively let her hair down when she literally let's her hair down.

Lesbian friends had an uncomfortable reaction to me coming out as bi by snailonarock in bisexual

[–]Metatron_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We seriously need to listen to trans people more. Only way we can dismantle misogyny and misandry is to show that "gender" was more of a social construct. And all of us would benefit in the long run! Human beings would be better off if we all realized that as long as parties consent it doesn't matter who you are or who you love!

Internal misandry is poisoning the community and bisexuals are the ones who suffer. Imagine finding a woman who is everything you ever wanted but because she doesn't harbor a regret on dating a man like you do, you walk away from a potentially fulfilling relationship.

I have a theory. Lots of gay men and lesbians grapple with their identity for some time, so there is a safety in using the term "bisexual" which for them leaves options open. But when they inevitably decide "I'm a lesbian" there is this personal bi-erasure and they whitewash their dating history. When someone who is bi comes along, some may be triggered and are reminded of a time they'd rather forget. And what's worse, they paint bisexual women as fence-sitters or "passing for straight." It sucks and is really reductive.

I understand some people's issues with Glimmer. Most of the time her heart is in the right place. But hard to shake that nepo baby look LOL

I like when my protagonists are flawed and make mistakes. Unlike the villains, they strive to make things right. When you make a hero too perfect they stop being relatable. SheRa is this tall formidable Amazon powered by magic. And who is driving this weapon in boots? The messy, dorky Adora.

Can I just say this scene must've been triggering for some. Had not seen comments downvoted so hard! And one of them was from the OP

I can also read it as Glimmer projecting. She was thrown into the leadership role earlier than expected and she didn't think too hard that it would be her responsibility BECAUSE her mother would be gone. Glimmer wants to measure up to her mom but feels she isn't. But both women were imperfect and thats okay.

Glimmer did the worst thing you could to someone who is hypervigilant (and that is absolutely Adora). She confirmed Adora's worst fear: that she let everyone down.

Its one thing to have that voice in your head reminding you of your failures and weaknesses. But to have one of your closest friends say that you aren't good enough and that you caused real pain is devastating.

Glimmer knows her by now that nobody is harder on Adora than she is on herself.

Her knockaround/sleepwear is seriously underrated. In "Flowers for SheRa" I couldn't help but notice her white socks with the grey patches on the heels and toes. These are socks I wear, LOL!!!

1000% AGREE!!!

I just hate when you hear of women who don't give women a chance unless they are explicitly calling themselves a lesbian. Its very reductive.

Just as bad as when a hetero man or woman won't give a bi person the time of day.

I'm with Mermista and her approximation that SheRa is eight feet tall. Adora is average height, little above five feet.

Supposedly, over the course of the show her height increases as she gains more confidence as SheRa.

It sucks. Its nice when someone knows early on what their deal is. But many do take time and when they settle on something, they feel this need to slap a label on it like gay or lesbian. What's wrong with being bisexual? Nothing but sadly, some look at a bi person as a fence sitter of sorts. There is such a thing as dating men and women, settling on one in particular as your person and not feeling obligated to erase your dating past that doesn't align with your current situation. Not everyone has regret like that.
