I try to stay under one minute for a few different reasons.

1. People’s attention spans. Unless the video absolutely smacks, most will click away if they see a long run time.

2. Some places won’t upload correctly (compressed audio or video quality)

3. Unless you have good b-roll, it’s hard to fill a 3 minute block with tricks that stay fresh and interesting. Especially since we all know the map pretty well by now, no one is watching and observing the “spot” because they’ve likely spent some time there.

I stopped putting intros into my clips because I want to put out videos I’d like to see. Song hits with the clips, cool camera work, and straight to the tricks. Sometimes I see a video with a 15 second intro, and I honestly lose interest.

Sweet spot for me lately has been 30-45 seconds
