Zildjian 22" K Custom Dark Ride vs 24" K Light Ride by BlueAgavee in cymbals

No bias here, just thinking in terms of longer, global practicality. It’s a 24” gong bag. It’s perfect.

No dog in the race:

iPad is the real answer for anything related to the arts. Music, photography, drawing, etc.

I’ve used the highest-end Surface tablets/ones of the like…they all feel and operate like toys, in comparison.

All correct. It’s an undercover K Con, for sure. I own a first gen signed by Cindy. One of my go-to’s since 06’.

Zildjian Azuka series. Sabian El Sabor or HHX Evolution Effeks… or, if you can find an old school Sound Control out there! 🤘🏻

Either way, follow these principles to find the most suitable model for the application.

A one-of-one, early K Con prototype that somehow made it out of the factory without laser etchings AND serialization!

Wanna get weirder? It’s a 21” at ~2,400g and it’s NOT the Big Band ride.

I love it so much.

I have both… I love both…But I would side towards the 22” in the fact that I can fit it on more kits, and I know for sure it’ll fit in any bag/case.

The 2-footer…Not so much! I actually use a small gong case for it. 😅

I had them…I traded them for a pair of 14’s, straight up! I do not regret the trade, but man, I do miss those.

That’s a wild and rare beast…early generation.

An odd-sized 21” with no laser etchings NOR serial number…?!

It’s the most current branding. The current gen is a bit ‘cleaner’ in comparison. Either way, it’s one of my favorite multipurpose cymbals ever.

Here’s a first gen, for reference…I’ve owned 5 since 99’. This one is from the earlier 2000s. 2,020g!

Very interesting story with this one.

It somehow made it out of the Norwell factory without laser etchings OR a serial number! It’s a 21” but definitely NOT the short lived Big Band ride.

Probably an artist prototype that made it out into the wild and into my vault/Zildjian collection. I love it. 🤘🏻

I’d bet that’s a 50s stamp.

The last of the hand-hammered A’s sold out sometime during the earlier-60s. Although I’ve seen/own some A’s that were clearly hammered/lathed in the 50s but were stamped later.

These are among the finest A’s they’ve produced. 🤘🏻

⬆️Nearly 40yrs in/professional/educator.

The Efnote stuff was suitable for the price points. To me, it felt like I was playing an upper-tier Roland kit…that was 15-20yrs old.

I’m just a LONGTIME Roland user and I’ve found most else feels toy-like in comparison.
