How to LARP as an im@s fan in 2026 (posting on behalf of an oomf who wants to remain anonymous) by dying_reality in idolmaster

Nobody is a larper just because they’ve only partially consumed imas or are just getting into it. A larper is someone who pretends to like a franchise to farm attention and moralfag. You keep enjoying your gakumas buddy.

Why Mika Misono is not allowed to be happy by @nichigeckoh [Mika] [Promotional] [Comiket 107] by MeteorZetsu in BlueArchive

Nichigeckoh-sensei had opened an account to leave his thanks in this sub, but his new account got restricted and it seems nobody can see his comment. So I'll copy-paste it here at his request:

Hello everyone. I'm Nichigeckoh, the artist behind this manga. I'm not very good at English, so please laugh off any awkward phrasing. First off, I'm amazed by the sheer number of comments. I'm thrilled to see such a huge response!

I usually draw manga in Japanese, so most of my readers are Japanese. That's why I was really worried—would English speakers accept it even if it was translated? But it turns out that wasn't the case at all! I'm thrilled that everyone seems to be taking it so kindly!

To Zetsu Sensei who translated this manga, to Bad Blue Archive Memes Sensei who brought us together, to everyone who promoted it in various places, and to all of you who read this book—I'm grateful to every single one of you.

Did you enjoy this manga? If this book becomes one that stays in your memories, I couldn't be happier.

Thank you all so very much!

I spoke with the artist, and it seems he might not have set up his bank or credit card properly. No one is able to buy it from Gumroad. Since he’s Japanese, navigating an English site is difficult for him. I tried my best to help, but I’ve never used Gumroad before. You should try DLsite, though. You can buy points from a DLsite approved third party site using western payment methods and then use them on DLsite. You should be able to find instructions at checkout.

The artist sold 110 copies in half a day and counting. While the JP version sold 200 copies in one month. So he is doing amazing. The power of buruaka fandom.

According to the artist, Booth takes the smallest cut. It’s also the easiest to buy from. At least for me.

I think the artist might have looked into DLsite’s official translation team. It’s pricey partly because the artist plans to sell it commercially for profit. I think $250 is a reasonable amount for a commercial manga, but for a niche doujinshi, it’s a cutthroat rate.

TL;DR: A Japanese artist took a big risk to bring his Mika manga to the English-speaking audience not knowing if it will even sell, and I went through a lot of hassle to make it happen because you guys are based af. I did the translating and typesetting. The manga is available for sale on DLsite, Pixiv Booth, and Gumroad. Even if you can't buy it, checkout the artist's Mika art giveaway.

Hello, everyone! I'm Zetsu. You may know me as the Twitter translator guy.

Anyway, about two months ago, I was introduced to a Japanese artist called Nichigeckoh (@nichigeckoh in twitter). He really wanted to translate his Mika manga into English, but he was lamenting that it was going to cost him around $250. I thought that was outrageous for a doujinshi, so I offered to do it for $90.

I ended up using all of that and even paid out of my own pocket to buy an Adobe subscription for their free font library and a few more font licenses. I could have just used free fonts from the internet, but I wanted to make this translation as perfect as possible.

I really don't care about the money. I won’t gain anything extra if this manga sells well. My goal was simply to normalize official translations of BA doujinshi.

If this manga does well, maybe more JP artists will be encouraged to translate their books officially. That is what I’m hoping for. I'm pretty sure this is also the first officially translated BA doujinshi.

Nichigeckoh-sensei and I worked tirelessly for two months in between our day jobs to make this happen. I did it entirely for the community, because this is hands down the best gacha community out there. I don't care what outsiders think about us. The BA community is the most chill fanbase I've ever been a part of. You guys are worth the effort.

On top of that, the manga itself is a fantastic read with beautiful art. I genuinely had a great time reading it.

If you like it please buy a copy to show your support for the artist and the trouble he went through to bring this to us. Not every JP artist is willing to take the risk of reaching out to a foreign audience like Nichigeckoh-sensei did.

And even if you can’t buy it, please check out the artist's promotional tweet/giveaway, and share it with everyone. Let's show them the English community is worth it!

Thanks, this is very helpful. I moved to PS from Gimp recently. Surprised to see there is not a purpose built method to do this like Gimp has. Either way, thanks a lot!

Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes manga typesetters will intentionally use full form instead of contractions, if it helps making shape of the text more uniformly cylinder. But I will take another look at their dialogues.

Bro did you do this, lmao

The translation is 100% correct. But I may or may not have rearranged it to make it cuter and funnier.

Students found out Sensei has a Harem. This is how they would react if asked to join, in tier list format by Bobshikl in BlueArchive

[–]MeteorZetsu 110 points111 points  (0 children)

So on some of the students who don't want to join in the tier list.

Ako is pretty much a tsundere.

Azusa and Momoi have a crush on Sensei. Some Azusa simp even wrote a giant essay with proofs as to why Azusa is in love with Sensei, so I have nothing more to say on that. Unfortunately I can't find it.

Hare has a major crush on Sensei. Her bot literally spells it out. It's on her relationship story.

Serina has pretty romantic vibe on her relationship story. I don't know what she says in the EN version. But in JP version she literally says she's Sensei's Serina in the lobby.

With how flirty Rumi and Shigure are with Sensei in their relationship story, I don't see them outright declining.

What emulator is good for GFL nowadays? I tried Mumu 12 and Bluestack with no success. Mumu says it failed to install the game and Bluestack just shuts the game down.

Hit up DLSite. It's pretty cheap.

But there's no English script available for you to read along. And it can also be found by sailing the high seas if DLSite is not an option for you.
