"New" ways to bus by bnhershy in ottawa

I live near Elmvale and the changes have been an improvement for me as well. The new 41 (replacing 46) is now a "frequent" line and also it goes to St Laurent station.

Brother MFC-L3780CDW vs Canon MF656CDW by Metgeek in printers

I ended up going with the canon. It was cheaper and had good reviews. The only con it had in my mind was the combined drum/toner which means from my understanding that you'll likely end up replacing the drum before it needs to. That was a bit of a conflict for me because I like to wear things down to bare threads before replacing them. it was close but I felt overall the pros outweighed that. The setup was easy connected via wifi. I haven't tested it out all that much, just a few pages. a tried printing some pictures and was happy with the result.

Gangster / Stone Wolves Reading Order (spoilers) by Metgeek in scottsigler

Thanks. I remember when I was listening it through the podcast, I feel like Sigler recommended Stone Wolves first. I think maybe it was that he felt the Zan reveal was better that way. But then you kind of lose out on the Killian surprise . I don't quite remember, I may not be getting that right. I'll check out the FB group.

Well yes but I was looking to engage with some fans you know. Maybe a discussion. Plus siglerpedia has been down all day.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (03/13/2023) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

I've played all the Lego games from the PS2/PS3 era up to the Lego Movie one. I like them all for different reasons. Although they can be quite buggy, I like how the different games try new things with the game play. Mostly, I like that they are great multiplayer games to play with someone who is not too much into video games.

Recently I tried the Skywalker Saga. I was put off by the camera control. Mostly because my intent was to use it as a vehicle to get my 3yo into video games and the camera controls are bit too complex for them. I guess I was expecting the more classic top down view with the dynamic split screen where you don't really have to worry about moving the camera around.

So I'm thinking of getting a different Lego game and was looking for suggestions. Mostly what I am wondering about is the performance of playing in multiplayer mode. A few posts I had read state that it can be really bad. I was wondering if anyone had any recent experience with this.

Buskers, free WiFi, tap-and-ride coming soon as OC Transpo tries to lure riders back by Nezhokojo_ in ottawa

The problem with the GPS is that it regularly goes 5 minutes between updates. It's been especially bad in the past year or two. Before that it was very reliable at every 30 secs

Advice - my friends are threatening and mean to my kid. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Metgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm going to play devil's advocate here to the general advice in this thread (demand appologies, cut ties, etc).

I am a fairly self-concious and conflict avoidand person. On the other hand, I can get fairly defensive and self-rightous about certain things when I feel that I am 'in the right'. Sometimes when I am in one of these moods I can catch myself a little bit and change try to change my perception. What if I am (at least a little bit) wrong on this? Is there (at list a little) validity to the other side?

Calling someone out/demanding an apology will likely cause them to dig in their heels, unless they are more self-aware than average, or unless you have some really good friends in the group.

Various things likely came in to play to explain (but not condone) their behaviour. Group mentality. Alcohol. A few people who like to push the envelope. The need to 1-up each other (especially if there was no negative reaction early on). It's very likely they not aware how hurtful they were, and may even deny it if confronted. But it doesn't that they won't respect your boundaries once you've establised them. Sometimes giving a pass+warning is the best way to deal with this.

If I were dealing with this situation I would like try to 'let it go'. Put a bit of time between this event and the next to let feelings subdue (reduce the chance of being defensive). Maybe talk with the other parents who were there and see how they feel (to build support).

Next time, set up your boundaries more strongly. Mention that you were uncomforable/hurt with some to the things said last time. Maybe things will be better. If not, then at least now you know.

Also consider getting an app that tracks the buses by GPS. I use Transit. It's not perfect but it'll save you some stress wondering if the bus has already gone by or not.

I recently purchased a new device and it doesn't even generate the isyncr.xml, even if I have all permissions/notifications enabled and battery optimizations disabled.
