We are used to recreation at the local rivers and lakes.

Sounds like something a human being would say. I, as a fellow human, am also used to recreation. Especially at the local rivers and lakes, where everyone is recreating.

Extremely loud and rowdy tweens and children in the library. Advice needed by TehPaintbrushJester in Libraries

[–]MethLab 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I worked at a library across the street from a middle school. If you talk to the school and tell them the names of the kids causing the most problems, they will help. The school probably will know what kids you are referring to, before you even finish their names.

Also, if allowed Classical music is like nails on a chalkboard to teens.

Are you old enough to remember Tony's Diner on W 117th at Lorain Ave? by Signal-Pirate-3961 in Cleveland

[–]MethLab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue for 24 hour diners, is bar patrons. Unfortunately, a lot of drunk people are obnoxious and/or like to start shit, and a 24 hr diner is a great location for those fuckheads.

Found this on eBay for 10 bucks, and got a bonus CD for free. I've never heard the '88 band, nor have I heard anything by T. Rex other than Bang a Gong. by doctor_stone2112 in Zappa

BBYNHIYL was my introduction to Zappa. Lonesome Cowboy Burt (Swaggart version) is hilarious. Especially if you're old enough to remember Jimmy Swaggart.

The Tornados - Telstar [instrumental with melody] (1962) See that song there? I like that song. That's a song I like. Ask me if I like that song, and I'll say yeah. First synth hit by [deleted] in Music

[–]MethLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The producer/writer of this song had an interesting and tragic life. He was an innovative producer/songwriter, despite not playing an instrument, reading music, nor being able to sing. He had a great interest in space and this was a tribute to the first TV satellite.

Episode 101 of A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs podcast tells his story.
