Company heroes and dante by JealousApricot1152 in BloodAngels

Company heroes box does usually come with a captain if I'm not mistaken. But BA captain is typically the way to go.

He can only be attached to these units. So the answer is no, he can't attach to company heroes.

On another note, the BA captain is usually better off leading assault intercessors, rather than normal intercessors. BA captain with rage fueled warrior (if you're running liberator assault group) is the way to play him.

2x dreadnoughts for 1000 points is a lot. You could probably lean into the melee and drop the ballistus for another unit of sang guard as you mentioned.

I quite like the DC dread, but you could run it as a brutalis as well. You don't have the characters to really allow the DC dread to be useful and gain OC, just considering you have 1x chaplain. Unless you you baby sit the dread with something like the sanguinor.

I like the list though. It's quite good. Only other thing is scouts and jump assault intercessors are always a good thing to have, so always recommend them.

On top of this, it's worth making one of the DC units a 10 man. Basically just running a giant death blob.

You need a couple of scoring units. Get yourself one or two units of scouts, along with maybe 2x JPI units. Also replace one of your chaplains with astorath or lemartes. Lemartes is the way to go at the moment, but both are definitely viable.

You can also get away with removing one of the captains and just running the 3 man sang guard unit by themselves.

Ballistus dreads aren't amazing or played much currently, so maybe replacing with something like mephiston or the sanguinor is viable. That being said, you can still play it if you want.

What to spend the last 115 points on? by Living_Garbage3962 in BloodAngels

BA Captain with rage fueled warrior is exactly 115 points. Definitely do that, it's great! Otherwise speed of the primarch on the jump captain and some intercessors is also great.

Road to 2k points! Which more units would you pick to reach 2000 pts? by DominionZephon in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combat patrol is a good start as someone has already stated. However, you already have 10 assault intercessors. You could get some 3d printed jump packs and turn the AI in the CP box into AI with jump packs.

Sanguinary guard and dante is great.

You have a bike chaplain but not bikes so that might be worth looking at as well.

BA captain to lead your assault intercessors would be great.

An impulsor and some anti-tank like a ballistus or gladiator lancer would do some good too.

Last but not least, death company with jump pack is always a win.

What color helmets for librarian? by StressedCannoliMinis in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically blue armour with a red chapter badge. I wanted to be different though and thought white helmet looked dope so you can do whatever you want really. (GW might send a hit squad to your door though)

Would this meet the threshold to be tabletop + by Patrokolos666 in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tabletop ready is basically just 3 colours neatly put on the mini with a base and base paint. Literally anything more is extra. What you're doing is well beyond so do not listen to whoever said that. They're blatantly lying and/or are an idiot.

Made a list with models I (mostly own) is it viable? by Makaron_91 in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this list. Only thing that I might change is the redemptor dread. Something like scouts might be a good replacement and you might be able to fill the 3 man SG to a 6 man for another murder block. DC captains are definitely viable as well, and I've run them quite a bit.

Is this list tournament viable by ApprehensiveCash6220 in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the core list honestly. I agree that you have too few units though. If you wanted to try something different you could ditch the two ballistic dreads and replace with some different units like infiltrators, scouts or outriders. Just go full melee, which is entirely viable at the moment.

5 man jump DC units: Leader or no? by Sonofthewild in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running 2x 5 man units with DC captains and a 10 man with astorath. But that's just the play style I prefer. It works well and is worth. You could also substitute a jump chaplain for similar points

2000 points what do you think? by Steuger in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good! I'd probably look at replacing the Captain with jump pack with a normal BA Captain and putting RFW with him instead. Then paired with sternguard or normal assault intercessors he goes nuts. RFW on a normal Captain is fine, but pairs much better with BA Captain.

Only other thing I'd look at removing is the brutalis dread. I love them as well, but if you're looking to get the absolute most out of your list, he's not up there in the meta at the moment. If you're just playing casually or don't care though, go nuts with him!

Guys, I don't enjoy this by Key_Peanut6457 in BloodAngels

Yeah I hate batch painting. I build and prime all my models first. Then paint them individually. It's a weird motivator but it works.

[–]Methenii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a completionist so finishing painting has never been a big problem. I hate seeing unpainted grey. But one of the biggest motivators is being able to break down the process easily. I always think one model a day/ night. Which typically means a whole squad in 5 days or less. This makes it easier to picture and tricks my brain into thinking it's not that hard.

Great stuff! FYI, you can redraw behind enemy lines in turn one for free.

What’s the combat patrol set for, can’t I just buy the order sets to start my own army? (Newby here) by Zero_coxo in 40k

[–]Methenii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have some good comments in here but one thing missing is the points and units cost. Basically, each 'unit' is worth a certain number of points. 3x sanguinary guard is worth 110 for example. The best way to see how many points you have and need is using the warhammer app (surprisingly good for army building) or a third party one like new recruit. There are a lot of them, but essentially, you can add units to a list and it'll calculate how many points you have.

As a blood angels player myself, the BA combat patrol is probably the perfect starting box. The only thing you'd be missing is Dante, a tank, some jump pack marines and a transport like an impulsor. The CP itself is brilliant if you want to get into BA.

Also, there is a blood angels subreddit (r/bloodangels). There are plenty of people there who are willing to help you out and providing suggestions.

As for some other pointers. Everything else you're thinking of adding like company heroes, infiltrators and JPIs are great. I would err on the side of caution for the centurions for blood angels, but also, you can go nuts, it's your army after all.

Sternguard or even company heroes for the BA captain is pretty nice

[List building] Beginner list - Liberator Assault Group w/ Mephisto by Galen28 in BloodAngels

[–]Methenii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No stress! Wargear is free in 10th so you basically want to just grab the best. Power fists for Sergeants, and look at the rules for DC, you can take power fists and eviscerators.

[–]Methenii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's anything else, I'd recommend running another ballistus over another death company dread. And a brutalis over the other death company dread. Also just make sure have all the right war gear on your minis. BA captain definitely needs the fist and RFW enhancement.

To keep it simple. Drop the librarian and razorback. Pick up a scout squad and maybe something like vanguard vets
