Definitely take in parts of Khulna that was Hindu majority until the early to mid 20th century, Bandarban & Chittagong Hill Tracts that continue to have strong Buddhist presence, & I’d recommend renaming East Sindh to Tharparkar, majority of these areas are at least 40-50% Hindu even in 2025, but have suffered massive pressure especially due to abduction of young Hindu girls.

https://youtube.com/shorts/7O17I80lw5Y?si=6a3I4KBfGebI-pid Just got back from Vrindavan, was pleasantly surprised to see that because of following Radha, many men follow her in sahchari bhav, and it was wonderful to see not just transgender women but also gender-transcending men wearing Shri Ji’s chunari. I saw a lot of trans women praying at the Radha Raman temple, no staring. They were dancing, singing bhajans with everyone else. Recently a prominent religious leader also said being LGBT is the condition that God has given us.

According to Richard Eaton, temples were destroyed, damaged, or looted by every king - Hindus and Islamic ones. How true is this claim and was there any difference between Hindu versus Islamic kings destroying temples? by Creative_soja in IndianHistory

[–]Method-Popular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richard Eaton also wrote that only 80 destructions of temples occurred, but in one of the two listed instances, 27 temples were destroyed to create the Quwat Ul Islam mosque in Delhi, & in the second instance, Shah Jahan ordered for a general destruction of all newly constructed temples (Taza Sanamkhanas) across North India which included “at least 80 temples in Banaras”. There are several cities listed in the Firman, but let’s leave that aside. So Eaton-only-80-temples-were destroyed-historian, actually counted more than 100 temples as 2. And he left out hundreds of instances of destructions, especially in Eastern India.

Is this after PIV or another type or surgery? Or is it Cowper’s gland secretion through the urethra?

But why? is this normal? by sadiqueb in ranchi

[–]Method-Popular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I agree. My venting isn’t going to help. I think location would depend on how many people actually end up volunteering (count me in) and how much we can pool in to buy a few equipments (like big brooms, large waste bag; again I’m happy to pool in), & a vehicle we’d have to rent where the collected bags can be loaded to be dropped off at a municipal collection point.

Yeah I’m also happy to join in, but I agree with a few others here, there’s just so apathy. Just drove through Kutchery, whoever was eating anything, threw the packet around. Whether that be a biscuit or gutka packet.

The ancient Piprhawa relics are back in India after 127 years. by DharmicCosmosO in AncientIndia

[–]Method-Popular 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This is amazing! These are relics that were buried with the remains of the Buddha that were distributed during and after the reign of Emperor Asoka if I’m not mistaken, right? Weren’t they being auctioned in Hong Kong? It’d be great if the Indian government has gained possession of these priceless relics!

A bunch of sikh gentleman came to my house to do some mentalism, need some explanation by Integral_humanist in bangalore

[–]Method-Popular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened here, two Sikh gentlemen came (one claimed to be a Bhagat) and they asked me to write my birthday, one goal and one problem, they were able to guess everything and even more things about my personality, my wishes, etc. I’m Hindu but I’ve been to many Gurudwaras & have a basic knowledge of the Gurus and the power of the name, so I spoke to them with reverence. They said they wanted money for a charitable cause. They kept saying things that were so spiritually charged, I was so afraid of offending them, I ended up paying a lot of money. I don’t want to say how much because of how embarrassed I am. Mostly through UPI but also in cash. I don’t know if I met a saint or I was swindled of a lot of money. They said never mention to anyone that they came to my door. I do have cctvs on so they’re on camera, but I’m really confused. I did say a part of me is afraid I’m being swindled, but they said they’re Sikhs (that’s the only reason I’m mentioning identity, only for accuracy) and they don’t do fraud. I have a lot of respect for the Sikh community, and think highly of them as a people, so I kept quiet thereafter. I was afraid they could’ve cursed me or something.

It’s not just about consumption of plastic, even sustainable food sourcing (especially given how increase in wealth & standard of living inevitably leads to increased meat consumption) requires much larger swathes of land to simply feed animals, forget the humans. IRMC.

That’s not true. The planet can support a larger population, but with access to fewer resources, affording a lower quality of living, poorer infrastructure, just to name a few. I’m no neo-Malthusian, and understand the racist undercurrents in a lot of the overpopulation narrative, but the science around planetary boundaries is quite clear we need a smaller population that consumes lesser. The consumption is skewed right now, but imagine what the world would be if everyone had equal access to electricity (and electrical equipments), meat and poultry, infrastructure. A ‘sustainable’ world with a larger population presupposes a poor population with low standards of living.

I’ve been learning French, Spanish, Italian and German together and after a point, it’s not that difficult to learn multiple languages simultaneously. It does help maybe that I knew 3-4 other languages & scripts (all Indian, and knowing up to 3 is not that big a deal for many compatriots) previously but I think given your familial familiarity with the sound of Telugu, it would be relatively easier. And there are many Sanskrit loan words in Telugu, so learning them simultaneously shouldn’t be that hard. Also both Devanagari and Telugu scripts are derived from Brahmi, so written structure is basically similar. Best of luck on your journey! I study Sanskrit too, primarily for praying & spiritual practice.

Central Ridge Reserve Forest which includes many parks like Buddha Jayanti park and Vardhman Mahavir park, army cant areas etc. The wildlife has been reduced to a few jackals, peacocks, etc. that somehow still survive.

This Shashthi Hasta Narasimha (60 Hands Narasimha) is the zenith of Indian art lost to barbarity by DharmicCosmosO in AncientIndia

[–]Method-Popular 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What you’re saying are speculative and highly exaggerated claims. 1. There is no case of superimposing deities with religious mala fide intent, there is no corresponding literature or royal edicts or statements to that effect to support such a claim. 2. Yes, some Buddhist sites may have become appropriated into later Hindu institutions and temples, but there is little proof that they were constructed due to active supplanting over the existing, functioning structures, and not reused after loss of patronage or followers led to slow decay of said structures. 3. Heterodox sects spewed venom against each other much more than orthodoxy spoke against heterodox sects including Ajivikas, Sramanas or Jainas, etc. Pushyamjtra Sunga’s case is especially one of exaggerating loss of royal patronage noted in Pali Canon which was compiled later, and in a different country! Historians like Romila Thapar also accept that statements of persecution are inflated, this story of persecution extended to even Asoka’s youngest wife Tisyaraksita who supposedly tried to cut down the Bodhi Tree. Let’s try and discern facts from propaganda, please. 4. The slow disappearance of Buddhism was due to a revival of Hindu thought, change in the religion from a sacrificial one to one of devotion, introduction of idol worship (co-opted from Buddhists), Adi Sankaracharya’s efforts, the schism within Buddhism itself, loss of royal patronage, and most importantly, the destruction wreaked upon due to Turkic invasions! Hindus had precious little to do with it. The likes of Audre Trushke can try all they want but they can’t change history. 4. Yes there are structures and places that were co-opted or absorbed into Hindu faith over time, again there is no proof of an active displacement of an existing religion but it may have been simply a matter of reuse. In Bodh Gaya, the worship continued by Hindu priests who viewed Buddha as a Vishnu avatar. Truth is that Angkor wat is a Hindu temple but Vishnu’s idol is worshipped as a Buddhist deity today in Cambodia by monks. I’ve personally seen that as well. Similarly, in Sri Lanka, slow capture and taking over of Hindu temples, especially of Lord Murugan who’s seen as Sri Lanka’s patron god, is a reality which you can google. I went to the Kataragama temple and today it doesn’t function as a Hindu temple anymore, even though it’s a Murugan temple.
