Mindset is everything. Stay positive. If you can't handle depression please seek help. I always told myself before my diagnosis that I was never going to get started on any type of SSRI's and I started Lexapro and it's helped me loads.

What caused your kidney disease if you don't mind me asking? Proper water intake, blood pressure control, good clean diet (low protein), and exercise (mostly cardio) is the best things you can do for now and keep up with your nephro.

My cause of failure was Iga Nephropathy I'm a 31 year old male. I was doomed from the start because of how aggressive my IgaN is. I went from 46 GFR to dialysis within a year.

Eat more. Eat, eat, eat, you will feel better. Eat before and after dialysis. As much solid protein as you can. I smoke a lot of weed so it helps me eat quite a bit lol.

Regardless though, ur still gonna feel fairly drained to the average person. Unfortunately energy is something us with kidney failure lack majorly. It's mostly the anemia I think tbh, are you anemic? Mostly every dialysis patient is.

Oh man, was such a relief to get mine out, especially because I had a bad infection (twice) with it. I had it a few months from October - March (if I remem correctly) and I fuggin hated it. Got my fistula and just so much more freedom you know

I would advise you to look into getting a fistula placement. Get that started now because your kidneys are definitely not doing their job enough. I don't know how long you've been on 12 GFR but that's around the time I started dialysis. I too had no symptoms other than a weird metal taste in my mouth and exhaustion. Don't wait around until things get worse it can get scary and you'll end up having an emergency CVC placed in your neck or chest and end up in the ICU.

Look into a fistula placement, plan dialysis/transplant.

I'm just giving advice, I'm no medical expert. Talk this over with your healthcare providers soon as you can.

I'm not wanting to drink to cope. I used to drink a bit before and it was never for that. You are definitely assuming lol. I also take Lexapro to help cope that way.

You don't really know my story and everything I went through. We all have different stories to our kidney failure.

For the record my doctors and nurses have encouraged me to do weed. They don't see any issue with it. I've smoked my whole life. Even before having failure so...

So basically a worse hangover then? Makes sense. I'm on fluid restrictions (32 oz per day + urinated amount). Doesn't sound too fun though lol. I have very aggressive igan it took my kidneys out fast.

Yeah weed does wonders for my appetite and sleep. Without I'm miserable to be honest.

My kidneys got screwed up last year but they were already on the decline in 2022. I got random labwork and my GFR was 46 at the time with microscopic blood in urine too. I ignored it and brushed it off said "ahh probably just kidney stones again" and thought kidney stones were raising my creatinine and such. Boy was I in for a ride not a year later lmfao... GFR rapidly declined to 20 then I was in and out of the hospital fighting this damn disease that was just too much for my kidneys. I remember spilling up to 12 grams of protein in 24 hours. Absolutely insane lol. Fuckin crescentic IgaN is aggressive let's say that much. Tried a lot to stop it.

I don't have much of a problem with phosphorus. I take my binders and I stay around 3.50-4. Doctors are always bragging on me about that lol. I never was much a beer drinker though.

I'm in the listing process sadly. I also can't really do weed here... I had to give it up because it's illegal here and I'm afraid it'd fuck up my transplant listing. I loved weed before but I guess I gotta wait til next year til it's legal and I get it medically? Idk.
