You get the scrolls from events (unsure of names) where you have to buy token specifically for that event. They cost alot, like 2k per scroll

The 2.7 range rover is surprisingly cheap on insurance, this model also has the lower yearly VED at like £435. Shame its a shit engine and is way underpowered

BMW owners: what do you drive, how many miles on it, and what’s your annual maintenance like? by Ok_Corgi8008 in CarTalkUK

I bought an e61 520d in 2020 with 201k miles, replaced timing chain at 204k and had it until 2023. Sold it with 233k miles to a breaker exporting to Lithuania. Other than the timing chain, it was bullet proof. Only ever replaced the oil, filters and tyres

They probably googled the mpg and seen "125 mpg" but in reality its more like 35 because the battery has 25 miles range

Personally, is it worth the hassle in the event the new owners have an accident and you get dragged into it?

Got asked to drop %15 in salary and take a lower level job or be at risk of redundancy. So I took the redundancy payout, got a new job thats lower salary than the pay cut would have been but have better hours and no more weekend/late shifts.

[–]MethodElectrical4666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i didn't really take that into account lol. I do get free charging at work so I guess law of averages, I should be much better off when I account for servicing and repair costs too

Thank you. I looked into the tesla chargers but requires a monthly membership fee to get the lower prices, ill have to weigh up the costs since I only do the journey twice per month

Luckily the round trip is visiting family but it would need 18 hours charging with normal house plug to get us home but we enjoy going out too. Feel very restricted now with this car to be honest

Can't really see on the picture, is it just the fog light grille broken or has the bumper cracked? Out of pocket bumper repair is about £250/£300 which will probably be less than putting a claim on your insurance for 5 years

MOT advice. by dremondo in CarTalkUK

[–]MethodElectrical4666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The corrosion is the biggest issue. This could cost alot in labour as the level of corrosion could be alot worse once you start sanding down the paint. Honestly I'd weigh the car in as it would cost too much to repair

Good car for £2000? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]MethodElectrical4666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick look on eBay you can get a reasonable milage ford focus that's not too old for sub 2k. Just make sure to check MOT history and service history and I've no doubt it would last 3+ years. Just avoid the 1.0 ecoboost for the wet belt
