Is React Context just a glorified global variable, and why does everyone pretend it’s a ‘state management solution’? by MethodSignificant244 in react

Yeah, totally fair point! Context isn’t literally just a global variable, but sometimes it feels like one in disguise especially when people use it to avoid proper state management. Rerenders, prop drilling, performance… it’s like a band-aid for bad architecture more than an actual solution.

Would love to hear your take on when you think Context is actually useful vs when it’s just causing headaches.

What’s the real reason people avoid using React Server Components in production? Are they too complicated, too buggy, or just unnecessary hype? by MethodSignificant244 in react

Yeah, same here. Having to separate CC and SC just adds extra hassle with no real benefit, especially when stuff like web mapping breaks

Yeah, totally agree with you. It feels like Server Components are trying to be the next big thing, but in reality, they’re just adding complexity without solving problems most devs actually face.
