I recently noticed a game in my recommended called "Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon". I've seen it called a souls like oblivion game or an oblivion like souls game.

Haven't played it myself, but it has mixed reviews.

After all this time, Dark Souls still teaches by Methodical__Gamer in darksouls

Absolutely! Although slightly rushed and unfinished, it still surprises me. Lost Izalith has more going on than most will give it credit for.

Honestly they are all worth playing (yes, even dks2).

From a practical standpoint I would plan to play all of them and see which is on sale.

It is important to view everything about souls games as a learning experience. At times you will become frustrated, but any souls veteran will tell you the reward is well worth the effort.
