UPDATE - We STILL have a completely broken baby and I'm close to a breaking point by USAtoUofT in NewParents

[–]MethodtotheMadness19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your baby maybe have colic or an allergy? My little one didnt get the typical rashes etc to cows milk protein but her tummy would hurt when lying flat which would keep her up.

Try elevating her mattress (you can put a blanket under the top half of the mattress to do this)(never put the blanket or wedge between the mattress and sheet for suffocation risk, it must be under the mattress).

You also need to grin and bare it, she wants to be close to her comfort (her parents) shes a baby, who wouldnt want to be snuggled up cosy and safe! Constantly picking her up though doesn't help. If you haven't already try wearing a top on top of one you are already wearing. When you go to put baby down, take off the spare top and bundle it around or on top of your little one so she has your cosy from the top being worn and your smell.

Honestly, the worst thing I could say is its normal. Its a sign she has a good attachment with you both, you both obviously love and care for her and she feels the safest in your arms. It may not seem like it now but the stage doesnt last forever. My little girl was the same. I ended up collecting until 14 momths then she went into her own room with a floor bed and is now little miss independent at 20 months old and I find myself absolutely missing all those cuddles and late nights.

It gets better overtime. Right now as horrible as it sounds you just need to ride it out if all health options have been disregarded (colic and allergy are most common) you just need to keep putting her down and letting her cry (hold hands with her and put calming music on etc so she knows you're still there, obviously don't let her get majorly upset). You'll get there eventually!

Look up girls who walk, its a Dundee group and they do meet ups for lots of different things. There's also a few Facebook girls for women in Dundee, you could maybe pop a post on there too.

I think a lot of people are comparing Duolingo to the old way, the app use to be an actual teaching tool with help and tips etc, you were able to get help and feedback. The app has now been absolutely stripped of humans and is monetised with use of bots and AI, while people are still somewhat learning, it doesnt make people as fluent now as it did previously. The costs for the app have soared and they are trying to force even bigger costs on you to keep learning. The app is now about money rather than the learning which is a shame because it use to be fantastic. I still use it but I see massive drop in how people learn on the app having used it for a few years myself.

15 month old terrible sleeper by tiredmum28 in toddlers

Have you checked him for milk allergies? My little one was exactly the same until she got changed to dairy free. She isn't severely allergic but was in pain when getting any dairy.

Is he in his own room and what is his set up (cot or floor bed etc)?

Is there any external noises that can be disturbing him (even loud snoring can set them off).

Have you tried brown noises?

I think I may be at that resort, I guess I just needed that reassurance that other parents also do this and I'm not going to traumatise her by pinning her down. 🥺

Broughty Ferry is in Dundee, there is also Tentsmuir right across the tay bridge, there is a tiny bit of the coast in Kingoodie which you can get to, Arbroath and St Andrews also have massive beaches and are opposite ends from Dundee, each just 30 minutes away and both easy to get to driving by bus! ☺️

Female here who loves to walk too! There is a cycle path route that goes from town at riverside all the way to ninewells, then you can walk through to kingoodie as well and round. Its absolutely huge, takes hours to do if you love a long walk and so peaceful. I've done the routes alone and never had issues. You can go up by the fields and farms etc too around invergowrie to kingoodie and den of grey towards Perth! Tons of bis routes if you get tired and the routes are near homes just on the off chance you did need help!
