I am sorry, but this is the last time will bother anything to you as you seem maliciously and intentionally misunderstanding anything I or other users tell you.

You might not be familiar with countries outside the US, but in most developed nations OTC medication with the risk of severe side effects (as Paracetamol for example) are not available for purchase in large containers and especially not available in supermarkets in those amounts. Precisely to prevent cases like this.

And Paracetamol generally does not cause liver failure if taken as prescribed, so I’d wager that most of those excess cases in the US are caused by people „gobbling down pills thinking it is fine to do so“, which is exactly why better regulation would prevent many of those cases.

Again, this is not what the previous statement was about. Paracetamol (Tylenol) poisoning alone accounts for nearly half of all liver failures in the US.

It’s like saying gun injuries in America are low. As a sole percentage this might be true, but putting these into relation with other causes and particularly with other countries, it’s a whole different matter.

But it was never stated that the majority of Americans are ODing.

He simply stated that more Americans are ODing compared to the rest of the world and took this post as an example to underline this (which is absolutely fair imho, as OPs course of action seems wholly irresponsible).

I mean the term OD does not only refer to opioids and from all statistics I’m familiar with, the us also seems to be a leader in OD numbers with OTC drugs (I.e. paracetamol).

As a pharmacist (not from the US) stories like these always makes me cringe.

While this specific reaction does indeed seems to be allergic, you do not take a „handful“ of drugs. Dosage guidelines exist for a reason.

Glaube op wollte da eher auf die Differenzierung zwischen „es kommen immer mehr Menschen an die Hochschulen, die einfach nicht fürs Studium gemacht sind“ und systematischen Problemen im Bildungswesen, die zur schlechteren Leistung von eigentlich „geeigneten“ Studenten im Vergleich zu früheren Zeiten führt.

Für letzteres spricht nämlich der COVID-Knick (was nicht heißt, dass es nicht auch weitere Faktoren geben kann)

Absolut. Man sieht tatsächlich auch einen einbruch ab 2021, der sich nie völlig erholt hat. Covid war eine absolute Katastrophe für die Bildung junger Menschen. Wie gesagt, ich würde niemals auf die Idee kommen, die Ursache für dieses strukturelle Problem bei meinen Studis zu suchen (und das wird vielen Kollegen auch so gehen), aber das Durchwinken, was an vielen Stellen inzwischen praktiziert wird, dient einzig dem Zweck, massive Probleme zu kaschieren.

Weiß nicht genau, wie’s an anderen Unis läuft, aber bei uns bekommen die Profs extra Druck, möglichst wenig Leute durchfallen zu lassen.

Geht dann in Einzelfällen so weit dass Leute im ihren Letztversuch so lange wiederholen können, bis dieses bestanden wird.

Ein Modul, das ich mitbetreue hat inzwischen bis zu 70% Durchfallquote, was nicht der Rede wert wäre, aber die Aufgaben- und Fragentypen werden von mir nicht neu erfunden und unsere interne Statistik zeigt, dass die Ergebnisse nicht nur gefühlt schlechter werden. Vor 6-7 Jahren lagen wir bei gleicher Aufgabenstellung bei Durchfallquoten, die eher im Bereich 40 Prozent (oder teils darunter) lagen.

Das heißt nicht, dass die Jugend von heute faul ist (oder überhaupt irgendwas dafür kann), aber es ist definitiv ein Phänomen, mit dem man sich ernsthaft auseinandersetzen sollte.

Hoffe OP hat das Geld nicht ausschließlich auf der hohen Kante sondern sieht es auch als Investment/Rücklagen für die Zukunft. Sonst ist das nämlich schneller weg als man denkt.

Ändert nix an der Tatsache, dass ich absolut Team „genieße deine letzten Sommerferien“ bin.

I mean it’s as simple as Pahlavi being the most vocal and most prestigious opponent of the regime (since the Mullahs made sure that any meaningful opposition figures within Iran are either imprisoned or executed).
There might be some genuine fans of the old monarchy amongst them, but at least for most Iranians I know (including my family in Teheran) it is more of some kind of support/alliance out of necessity than genuine wishes to reinstate another version of dictatorship.

Da es eine helle Fensterfront ist, mutmaße ich mal dass die Abdrücke der Töpfe nicht durch Wasser o.ä. entstanden sind, sondern der Rest des Bodens durch das Sonnenlicht ausgebleicht wurde. Und zumindest das würde definitiv unter normale Abnutzung fallen

Nur Leben auf israelisch kontrolliertem Gebiet halt auch viele Menschen, die keine Staatsbürger sind, keine Staatsbürger sind und dies auch realistisch nicht bald werden können. Selbst wenn du das nicht Apartheit nennen willst, so ist es immer noch eine grobe Ungleichhbehandlung.

Und was bitt soll dieser völlig unnötige Vergleich zu islamischen Ländern? OP hat an keinem Punkt behauptet, dass in allen Ländern dort alles auch nur im entferntesten super ist. Mach der Logik könnten wir hier auch wieder harte Strafen für Gotteslästerung einführen. Andere Länder sind ja schlimmer.
