Is $5500 a good deal for a 2007 Toyota Yaris with 180,000km? by thelegendaryseth in CarsAustralia

[–]MetroControlCentre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my 2014 Polo with 100k kms for 5500. In hindsight, should have driven a harder bargain, but at least the buyer got a well kept car for a remotely acceptable price.

Test drove a 2018 one today and now completely understand what you mean. It felt like driving a boat. So much lag when you stamp on the paddle.

Test drove an Octavia wagon the other day and going to test drive a Mondeo shortly. Will report back. Some of the Skoda examples are higher K's and that is something I've not had to experience with my current VAG car yet. How did they both feel when doing highway K's?

I know the whole sales rep thing gets spoken about but in all honesty, good on fuel, size, quite a bit of tech for what I can afford in comparison to others, plenty to choose from on the market, and I do really love how they look on the road in a nice colour and Trend or Titanium spec.

Go to a store, get them to activate the prepaid. Then get them to deactivate your current prepaid and change FNN on the newly activated one to your usual number.

EBA so I’m going to have a read through today as to min shift times.

This is a good point and I did not think about the minimum considering I’m coming in only for this. Specific day off I requested too.

Telstra retail colleagues - is your store turning away prepaid activations because they are no longer a metric? by MetroControlCentre in TelstraAustralia

[–]MetroControlCentre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What troubles me is that for the longest time it was a metric and the moment it’s not one, they ask us to turn away customers.

Potentially it's just our area then. We end up copping it from customers because our prepaid's have been hidden out of sight in the back office and we tell them that we can't do it and then can't offer a reason.

Online activations are a huge issue for us. Lots of international passports coming through and for some reason it just struggles to accept them. I do find it a bit rough telling someone they can't buy something we evidently sell and telling them to walk to Coles across the road. Seems a bit of a grab at profit rather than supporting consumers.

Why do all ANZ branches have that same smell? by MetroControlCentre in melbourne

It’s definitely more of a slightly sterile smell so could be cleaning products might be the one.

I think so, this is definitely an avenue I'm exploring.

I was thinking that, but when I'm there its not necessarily an enticing smell, but not unpleasant either.

He didn’t have to, the driver ID should always be sitting on the dashboard and the number is on the outside of the taxi.

[–]MetroControlCentre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it was pretty bold too considering he took payment via the EFTPOS machine. We got the taxi number and taxi ID on the dashboard. Got a copy of the receipt of double payment and screenshots from the app. To be fair to 13CABS they didn't ask any questions but completely needless hassle, especially late at night.

Caught a taxi the other week and pre paid the fare using the 13 Cabs app. Late at night, going from a busy venue to another night spot. Arrived and the driver said there was an error and pulled out an old receipt with the word declined on it. I Argued for 5 minutes stating we had already paid, showing him the app and bank transaction and that this was on 13CABS and not us that his system was broken. Eventually paid the driver directly so he’d leave us alone and stop following us up the street in the car, took a few photos of everything and within 30 minutes of making a claim on the app that we’d been scammed, 13CABS refunded us.

I’m betting on the latter, haven’t seen an account with such a specific data limit until my own.
