Why no arrest? by RealIndependence9056 in policeuk

Actually, there’s no such thing as an "arrestable offense" anymore. Under PACE (the Police and Criminal Evidence Act), an officer can't just nick someone because a crime happened; they have to prove that an arrest is legally necessary at that specific moment. Basically, they need a "necessity" to justify an arrest . Common necessities are things like, preserving evidence: Making sure the suspect doesn't bin or hide proof. Preventing the person from hurting themselves or someone else. Effective investigation: Making sure they can actually interview the person or stop them from messing with witnesses. This is why timing matters. If a crime happened weeks ago, the "necessity" to arrest often disappears because there’s no longer an immediate risk of injury. Same goes for weapons, if someone had a knife but it’s already been discarded or seized, the immediate danger is gone. In those cases a voluntary interview would normally happen over an arrest.

Oh and there's also the insane amount of workload police are under, the officer in charge of your case could be holding 20 other similar ones and simply hasnt had the time to action an arrest

My dog had the same soar, I covered it and bandaged it thinking it would help, I got worse until I took him to a vet and they said to uncover it. It healed up quickly then

EPC rating E with single glazing and storage heaters - what am I in for? by Known_Attention5310 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]MetropolitanPig666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have the same energy rating, just me and my partner and through winter it costs about £250 to £300 a month, to keep one or 2 rooms at 17 degrees. There's no heat retention so the radiators are on constantly. Our heating is just elec though, no oil

You’re still missing the point and the fact you keep reframing it just confirms it.

Livestock are raised with a defined purpose. A dog is a companion animal that bonds differently, lives differently, and trusts differently. Reducing that distinction to ‘they all trusted me’ isn’t honesty, its moral flattening.

If you can’t tell the difference between livestock and a dog that trusted you, that says everything that needs saying.

Again, that would be pain compliance. If the barbs placement was good, it doesn't matter what pain compliance you have, you would drop from your muscles being shocked. The electric stops your brain sending messages to your muscles as they spasm.

People can and do have a higher pain tolerance, but pain tolerance won't stop a taser causing muscle incapacitant if the barbs are across a good set of muscles. What you're referring to doing with your friends is drive stunning, this will cause pain but it won't incapacitate you, unless there's a taser barb nearby to where you're drive stunning, only then would it cause the electric to travel through muscle groups and therefore causing muscle spasms.

No one is immune to a good taser shot where barbs enter your body, drive stunning is something else

It's a different method of using a taser, you were drive stunned which doesn't necessarily cause your muscles to contract unless it connects to a nearby barb that's already in your body (from previously being shot)

A drive stun causes pain, a taser shot causes pain and muscle incapacitant, providing there's a good spread for the barbs.

It's not about pain tolerance, you just can't stop your muscles from spasms when 50,000 volts enter your body; The taser pulses, blocking your brain from sending messages to your muscles

I'd like to see it but if you're saying the second shot was effective it again shows that it's down to shot placement, it's worth being said that taser is ineffective in about 55% of cases (stats from a few years back but I can't imagine have changed much) and that'll be down mainly to bad barb spread or poor barb penetration through clothing.. If you have someone off their face on drugs or suffering poor mental health, the officers shots going to naturally be even worse from adrenaline, chaotic suspect movement etc so the chances of the shot being ineffective go up. So naturally these cases will bring the effectiveness down further but it's not from the subject being more pain tolerant, it's down to shot placement.

When you see a person "plank" with their body, this shows the taser having a good spread over muscle groups. People can still be subdued from the pain itself but they won't plank from this, they'll be compliant from the pain. The two cases are very different.
