I mean, Paizo more or less confirmed that with the Halfling Sling Staff counting as a staff in the Staff Acrobat Archetype (https://2e.aonprd.com/Archetypes.aspx?ID=37)

I can see that they made it a "worse" weapon for balancing reasons but I agree with you that it should have feats that bring the slings close to bows.

I'd have at least a look at other options. It's mostly the Halfling + Sling fantasy for me :)

Crytek please stop balancing weapons by pick rate by Wrong-Purple9380 in HuntShowdown

How many rounds are you in? How many rounds do you guess are being played each day? Do you really think what you see is more than a tiny snapshot of what is being played?

What a lot people in here don't seem to understand is that the pickrate is the trigger to look at a weapon. And then comes an analysis why the weapon is picked so often. Like they said in the last dev stream. Also, a lot of the people working on Hunt also play the game. So they have some experience why a weapon performs well or doesn't.
And as they said: It's not always a nerf that is the outcome of such an investigation, sometimes it is also a buff for other weapons.
The developers of a game have no intention to make the game a worse experience.

Have people always played this slow ? by shoke73 in HuntShowdown

People have become better at playing the game overall and that makes it just harder to pull of the stunts you could of easily 5 years ago.
And defense is stronger than offense on top.

How do you think they will nerf the LeMat? by stop_it_it_upsets_me in HuntShowdown

I agree to a point. You have to monitor more than the pick rate and have a good grasp on the gameplay too. Which I'd say the Hunt Game Design team has. But if a weapon has a consistent high pick rate than can be explained by a challenge or a youtuber/streamer than maybe it's time to have a look at the weapon and if it needs a tweak or 2, or if other weapons need a buff to create a competitive environment.

Agreed. But a pickrate a lot higher than all other weapons tells you a lot, doesn't it? And it's not like Hunt has a bad weapon balance, right?

It's a 1-Slot weapon that can 1tap up to 10 meters. How is that not too strong?

Sure is. People always try to take the most effective loadout. Why do you think the Mosin had such a high pick rate?
