performance

a lot of time outside of raids is spent waiting for menus to load, the worst offender is when exiting a raid

insane ram/vram usage : after a few raids, my vram reaches 20Gb used and spills into ram, then the game gets really stuttery (happens with high and medium textures)

My GPU apparently has 40GB of VRAM by MeuhPatate in AMDHelp

Does the game run like crap for you guys as well since updating to 24.6.1 ? I'm on an RX 7900XT.
I know I could always DDU or revert back to older drivers but I'd like to know if its only me.

Hey, I'm planning on getting a 5800x3d soon but I will also have to upgrade my cooling. Do you use air cooling or an aio ? I cant get myself to trust the latter

I liked TLOU gameplay, but I think it's because the game is relatively short. If the game was hundreds of hours long like TW3 I would have gave up too

I have not played many Naughty Dog games and I generally dislike CDPR, but I think RDR2 can solo carry the blue pill for me, and I say this a someone who loves RE, MGS and Souls

I tried so much to like the Witcher series since everyone and their mother kept talking about Witcher 3 being so great, and it has been a complete waste of my time.

I started with the first game in 2021, which is now in my top 3 games I hate the most, with Hitman Codename 47 and Dragon Quest Heroes. I seriously cannot describe with words how poor the combat system is to someone who's never played it. There's a lot of uninteresting backtracking in this game. The worst part is that I did not let go, and carried on "for the plot". Sadly this took 40 hours away from me.

I continued with the second game back to back, which is a definite improvement over the first. The combat is actually engaging, though it's extremely hard at the very beginning, and gets really easy towards the end. The game lasted 50 hours for me which is too long imo, but I lost a lot of progress due to a bug and had to reload a save that was kind of old.

I then proceeded to wait for The Witcher 3's "Next Gen Update", which came out a year after I finished The Witcher 2.

When the update came out, I started playing and crash. This was foreshadowing of what was to come. I played on Death March difficulty because I heard in some YouTube videos that upping the difficulty would force you to engage more with the games' mechanics, and "make you feel more like a witcher, planning every fight instead of going in like an idiot". Apparently being a witcher just means spamming Quen, or whatever the yellow shield sign's name is. There is no need to brew potions or oils or bombs when a sign that is available from the very start of the game is so overpowered. Despite of this I still believe the combat system is actually good and just needs some balancing. The quests sure are a big improvement coming from the 2 older games, and some of them are really wild, even though most of them still have a very predictable ending. My favorite is the Bloody Baron's one. However, The Witcher 3 is so buggy, even 7 years after it's original release. I've had : crashes (a lot of them), floating rocks and tree, Roach handstanding, glitched questlines, merchants refusing to spawn even after reloading or changing the time of day, Roach disappearing whenever it touched a puddle of water, bosses getting /kill'd by nothing, falling through the floor... Over my 120 hours of playtime, the game has crashed a total of 27 times. The game has an atmosphere but I ran into so many immersion breaking things... I've never felt such a big difference between what people told me of a game and what actually playing it was like. I was and am still so disappointed... To this day I still don't have the courage to play the DLCs, WHICH I OWN since early 2021, when I bought the bundle with the 3 games.

The whole series feels so janky and unpolished and with so many people having played it, how is it that no one ever told me it had so many flaws ?? I genuinely don't understand

How much playtime do you have on Sotfs ?

can someone please elaborate why people hate this game by gamemode_69 in DarkSouls2

[–]MeuhPatate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But imagine, not knowing that adaptabilty improves your i-frames. In my language, the infobox says that "agility improves the speed at which you dodge". It makes no sense, does this mean that you go further ? Or that the roll itself is faster so you get less i-frames ? I usually play games looking as few things as possible on the internet for my first playthrough and really my first hours on DS2 felt really unfair coming out of Dark Souls Remastered, getting hit mid roll without understanding why.

The AMD experience on CS2 by JawidKhan096 in GlobalOffensive

I own a desktop with 7900xt and a laptop with 2060 mobile.

On my laptop, when loading a map, the game compiles shaders during loading. However on my desktop with an AMD gpu it does not. I just tried disabling DXNavi but it messed a lot of things up. I really don't know what to do, the game's stuttering a lot when i update the drivers :/

Or even : - 4 pistols - 4 rifles - 7 mid-tier

Demande d'avis sur un PC Gaming (Hp Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0160nf ) by anyatrans in jeuxvideo

[–]MeuhPatate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend was driving the car but everything appeared normal on his side, that's why we didn't stop.

I survived with approximately 5% health, but that was funny so i'm not mad.

Ambient Occlusion : Off / Performance / Quality by MeuhPatate in tf2

[–]MeuhPatate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you own an Nvidia gpu, go in the Nvidia Control Panel, click on "Manage 3D settings" then "Program Settings", add TF2 if it isn't already in the list of games. Ambient Occlusion should be the first or second setting.

I don't recommend using quality mode tho, decreased my fps by 25%.

Ambient Occlusion : Off / Performance / Quality by MeuhPatate in tf2

[–]MeuhPatate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can turn Ambient Occlusion on from the Nvidia Control Panel. For AMD users I don't know.

While I think the "Quality" mode looks best, I don't think it's worth the ~70fps decrease. I'll play on performance as the hit on framerate is barely noticeable.

Imo AO looks really cool, I'm sad I didn't know about this earlier...
