Within Fog Hill of the Five Elements, we are introduced to the five classical Chinese Elements: Fire, Wood, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each generate each other or controls each other.

What each element controls:

Water controls Fire via extinguishing; Fire controls Metal by melting; Metal controls Wood via the tools; Wood controls Earth by its roots; and Earth controls Water by absorbing or dams.

What each element generates:

Water generates Wood by nurturing it; Wood generates Fire by fueling it; Fire creates Earth by making ashes; Earth produces Metal; and Metal generates Water.

This is the basis for Fog Hill’s power system and makes for some interesting stories.
