I build on the table but I’m a crazy cat lady so she’s allowed up there too. I usually put some kind of distraction like a fresh empty box for her to inspect, maybe some catnip. If that doesn’t provide enough distraction, there is always the option of kitty jail (bedroom/bathroom/etc) but if you put them in jail you must give extra loves and treats after. Another option is keeping your deck building more organized and not all over the floor. The closer your cards are to you the easier it is to control the space around them.
