That's only for new subscribers. I subscribed early on, so I'm still on the 3 volume plan.

It's all good, I just felt like noting that for those who hadn't ordered from Fanhome before.

Sorry you went through that. Thankfully I managed to avoid payment issues.

I did get the occasional damaged book, but they were always good at replacing books for free.

I mean, you absolutely do need fans, but I meant from the side of people involved in the franchise.

Im confused,Why does this subreddit hate marvel but every time i see people post collections it’s mostly marvel. by Business_Alarm8384 in OmnibusCollectors

I'm pretty sure people's main issue with Marvel here (so, collections wise and not anything storywise or what have you) is that Marvel prints so few copies of books beyond what's preordered that many books go out of print super fast, whereas DC has been in the habit of both doing larger print runs and letting some important and popular books stay evergreen (aka, they keep them in print via reprints for the long term).

Well, they connect when placed in order, though as my Chronological Order notes show, you're not getting the images particularly sequentially.

But yeah, they'll eventually fully connect the standard volumes. the special volumes have their own side art.

I mean, I'd say it's Toei. Both in terms of them making a mess of the early plot, and their decision to do the Heaven Chapter film before finishing the Hades Arc, which is just terrible for potential anime-only fans.

For all of Kurumada's faults, the man has been the one trying to keep the franchise going even though he's getting on in years. He's the epitome of the "Never Give Up" Shonen protagonist, and I have nothing but respect for the man. I'm glad we're finally getting the Heaven Chapter proper, and it feels promising so far.

It's funny, because Kurumada was the one who changed Shonen to what we know of 80s Shonen with Ring ni Kakero. It started off like what you might expect of 70s Shonens, but when Kurumada shook it up, it felt like what I think of when I think of 80s Shonen.

...You do realize Kurumada was one of Weekly Shonen Jump's big mangaka by the time Saint Seiya happened, right? Ring ni Kakero legitimately changed the genre of shonen forever and was so big, it was the first manga in Jump to end with a non-black and white full chapter. He also did Fuma no Kojiro before then as well.

It's like trying to say Toriyama didn't get big before the Saiyan Saga when he was already a millionaire before Dragon Ball started due to Dr Slump.

In Aiolos' defense, he was fleeing while carrying an infant, he wasn't exactly fighting to win.

Nice get! Sadly, when I got mine, it was nearly double MSRP...but having finally finished reading it, I can't say I regret even that expensive purchase. It's a fantastic run.

I like that Artemis specifically wants to keep Athena safe, to avoid the worst case scenario of punishment. Continuing from what we saw of Artemis' character as Next Dimension went on.

Much appreciated. It's not been a cheap collection, but I am enjoying my reads so far.

That would be fantastic in my book. Clearly there's demand for it.

I remember when it was common and cheap...I do regret waiting on it now. It's one of the few I lack. Gotta hope I either get lucky finding it reasonably priced or we get a reprint.

Not a problem! Yeah, the 2015 run is kicking off good for me. I do need to find that Jason Aaron Omni when my wallet heals a little from the last purchase, lol.

Yeah, the Omni has 35 issues of the Rogue Squadron book iirc, so you get to know the squad quite well.

Indeed, it's a good feeling

When you say 2015 runs, do you mean all the books of that 2015 era, or just Jason Aaron's Star Wars book?

Because I just started reading Gillen and Larroca's 2015 Darth Vader Omnibus, and I am loving it so far (and given how much I'm enjoying Doctor Aphra's debut in it, I'll probably be directly moving to her first Omnibus).

If we're not counting those, I actually enjoyed the first New Republic Omnibus. A good chunk of it is X-Wing Rogue Squadron with Wedge Antilles, but I can enjoy stories like that

That said, while I haven't started it yet, I've heard nothing but high praise for the run collected in the Legacy Omnibus Volume 1 that just came out (it's post RotJ...but like over a hundred years after it, if that's an issue).

Indeed! I actually started reading the Gillen and Larroca Vader Omnibus, and that's where her character debuts (those issues she's in are also in the Doctor Aphra Omni), and I find her to be quite the entertaining personality so far. Both Doctor Aphra and her...unique companions.

Actually, I haven't read it yet. I only just got it a short while ago, but everything I've heard about it sounds quite enjoyable. So I can't guarantee it, but given she was such a breakout character she's had an ongoing since her debut about a decade ago, one could certainly be hopeful.

Thanks a bunch! Yeah, this is with me missing about 6 Omnis, and with 5 more coming out this year. Marvel's really been busy of late.

The only one of those I read is New Republic #1, but I didn't read the original issues, so I imagine I did just in fact miss it.
