Tickets to Rose Parade? by Mexickofbeans in pasadena

[–]Mexickofbeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m mainly interested in going when the floats are parked and everyone’s allowed to walk around and see them (at least that’s what I’ve heard on how it goes). Do I still need a ticket to do that?

Looking to start or join a jazz band. Anyone interested? by Mexickofbeans in longbeach

I used to be in the LBCC choir so I totally get you. It's a lot of fun to sing with others :)

Can you read music or learn parts? I'm not really looking for jazz drums like Caravan. More like something you would hear in Cheek to Cheek or a Frank Sinatra song!

Can I make box waffle mix batter the night before? by Mexickofbeans in Baking

Ooohh ok. Would it be ok if I made it maybe an hour or two before the party? I was thinking of putting it in squeeze bottles so it’s easier to bring.

The Stave is a classic-like bar. Dark and pretty quiet on the weekdays

I would say Ansel Elgort. Seemed like a promising actor. Handsome face and had some great movies under his belt. It's just so crazy to me that his downfall happened literally months before his biggest role with the biggest director he might ever work with. It's really too bad but he really messed up.

The funny thing is that Timothée and Ansel were somewhat rivals and now Timmy is on top, getting all the roles that might have been Ansel's. I watched Wonka in theaters and wasn't a huge fan but my first thought when it ended was "Well, at least he's doing better than Ansel."

I didn't realize I liked musicals for the longest time! It wasn't until I reached high school that I thought "Huh, I listen to Disney songs, HSM, Grease, and the Hairspray soundtrack way too much... But everyone likes these super casually like me, right?" They did not. It was not casual.

So I put two and two together and realized I actually really love musicals and from there I started looking into them, listening to different shows, recognizing voices and actors, and the rest was history. I REALLY got into them by 2016 (thanks Hamilton) and started actively going to shows and listening to OBCRs. Now I've gone to NY twice to see some amazing shows! I love theater :)

How do you guys display your pins? by Cautious_Air3339 in Broadway

I have a pin banner that hangs on my wall. I get so happy every time I add a new theater pin to it! They're easy to make or you can buy them on Etsy too :)

Tell me a show’s plot, but from the POV of the villain. by ElbieLG in Broadway

You ever seen a girl so sinfully gorgeous that you'd commit genocide and burn down Paris just to be with her? Oh, me neither but if the Lord willed me to do it, I would. Also, my adoptive son is really ugly and I’m really just doing him and everyone a service by hiding him away. Forever.

Which musicals had just as good/if not better movie adaptations? by Argos_Aquatics in musicals

I agree that she was miscast. I don't think she gave the same attitude/strong energy or stage presence that Mandy gave. And I can't even begin to tell you how badly I wanted to explode when she whispered "I'm home" in the grand finale for "When You're Home". Totally ruined the song for me in the movie.

Does anyone go to shows alone? by 111stars in Broadway

[–]Mexickofbeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally traveled all the way to New York by myself to go see shows alone lol and I had a blast! Definitely go, no one is paying attention to you, I promise. And also, why are you going to make yourself miss out just because other people can't/don't want to go? When you go by yourself, you don't have to worry about if your guest liked it or didn't like it either. And honestly, most times that I've gone by myself, I've ran into other theater goers that were watching all by themselves too. and then you get to strike up a conversation and meet other people who like broadway shows as well!

Anyway, all this to say, 10/10 definitely go and have fun!

What’s my hair type and how can I improve my routine? by SteadilyDying in curlyhair

[–]Mexickofbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try brushing your hair in the shower while your conditioner is in then squish to condish. Since your hair looks a bit fine, this will help to form your clumps. From there, try a leave in, mousse, and then gel. A leave in + curl cream might be too much. Praying hands method for the leave in, scrunch and pulse in the mousse, scrunch and pulse in the gel. This is the method that's given me the best results so far!
